"COVID cars are cars that have been sitting around for a long time and the batteries do not work," Bob Gugino, owner of Bison Automotive said. Gugino says he has seen a number of cars with similar issues with rotting brakes, dead batteries and severe neglect. "Every day people are working more and more from home so this is a consequence of that," Gugino said. These consequences of cars just sitting around are happening to vehicles of all ages. "All cars, whether new or old," Gugino said, "It affects the older ones a little bit more but every car, if it's not run, can have the battery die and the brakes rot out."The best way to make sure that does not happen? Carnival Cruise Line announced Thursday that most of its remaining US-based cruises for 2020 have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns.The cruise line canceled all cruises originating from US ports except for those leaving Miami and Port Carnival during November and December. Carnival said Thursday that it’s possible all remaining cruises in the US will be canceled amid the pandemic.“As we have said throughout this pause, our return to operations will be gradual and phased in. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department notified the agency around 4 a.m. December 1 about a distress call of a man in a rural area near Lake Morena Reservoir. The 34-year-old man was suffering from a serious leg injury, Border Patrol says.
