PHOENIX - Latest polling numbers released from the Secretary of State’s office shows Kyrsten Sinema has taken a slight lead over Martha McSally in the race for Arizona Senate.As of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sinema has 916,380 votes statewide, while McSally has 914,369.345,000 votes remain uncounted in Maricopa County while a small number of ballots remain uncounted as well in smaller counties.Officials estimate about 195,000 of those are early ballots, provisional, and out-of-precinct ballots that voters cast or dropped off on Election Day.It is one of the most-watched races across the country: will Martha McSally, a Republican, or Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, serve as Arizona's first congresswoman?Both are vying to fill Sen. PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- An unmasked man pulled a gun on a masked shopper and threatened to kill him during an apparent confrontation over face coverings at a Florida Walmart, deputies said.According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the store's security video shows Vincent Scavetta pushing an older man in a wheelchair through the Royal Palm Beach store on July 12.In the video, a man with his young daughter approach Scavetta and exchange words. Witnesses said the man made a comment about Scavetta not wearing a mask.The video shows Scavetta giving the shopper the middle finger before pulling a handgun from his waistband, deputies said."I'll kill you," Scavetta said, according to an arrest report.Scavetta faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper exhibition of a firearm. 826

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies say that a Florida man who robbed a bank on Thursday began throwing money out the window of his getaway car as he led police on a chase.According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, just before 4 p.m., 37-year-old Anquan Walters walked into the Hancock Bank in unincorporated Clearwater wearing long pants, a long sleeve shirt, gloves, glasses with a fake beard and pantyhose over his head.Witnesses told investigators that Walters was carrying a black handgun when he jumped over the counter, he ordered people to the ground and demanded money. Walters was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he exited the bank.Detectives say Walters got into a 1998 Toyota Camry and fled northbound on U.S. Highway 19.As Walters was fleeing from the bank, multiple dye packs exploded and Walters started throwing cash out of the window of the Camry, onto U.S. Highway 19 North, deputies say.A viewer shared a photo of the money scattered on U.S. 19 with Scripps station WFTS in Tampa.Responding deputies spotted Walter's Camry traveling northbound towards the intersection of U.S. Highway 19 and Curlew Road. Deputies tried stopping Walters but he fled in the Camry at a high rate of speed, eastbound on Curlew Road from U.S. Highway 19 North.Deputies initiated a vehicle pursuit and successfully deployed a tire deflation device that deflated the tires on Walter's Camry as he approached Countryside Boulevard.Detectives say Walters lost control of the Camry and crashed into two vehicles that were stopped at the intersection of Curlew Road and Countryside Boulevard.Detectives say Corporal Phillip Love was pursuing Walter's Camry at the time of the crash. Corporal Love was unable to stop his marked 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe cruiser before crashing into Walter's Camry at the intersection.Walters reportedly abandoned the damaged Camry and fled on foot northbound into a nearby apartment complex. Deputies chased Walters on foot and apprehended him shortly after.Detectives say Walter's clothes were covered in colored dye as a result of the bank's dye pack exploding.The driver of one of the vehicles Walter hit was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported.Detectives arrested Walters and transported him to the Pinellas County Jail.Walters was charged with one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, one count of Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Bodily Injury and one count of Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage.The investigation continues. 2599

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida — A heroic act caught on video.A baby nearly choked to death at a Florida mall but quick-thinking officers who just happened to be nearby stepped up to save her life. The incident unfolded nearly two weeks ago. One-year old Lucia Graham was rescued by two Palm Beach Gardens, Florida officers who happened to be eating lunch nearby when she started choking."They were there for a reason and that reason was to save her life," said Ana Jaramillo de Graham, Lucia's mother.In the surveillance video, Jaramillo de Graham can be seen with her two kids, including Lucia's toddler brother, enjoying Kid's Day at Palm Beach Gardens Mall."We got hungry, and like we always do, we went to Chick-fil-A," she said.Lucia then started choking on a chicken nugget."She looked at me with her eyes wide open. She tried to do something with her mouth — she couldn't cough, couldn't do anything," said Jaramillo de Graham.The mother tried a technique taught to her by her pediatrician, which involved sharp blows to the baby's back to dislodge the object. She said in a panic she must not have been performing the technique hard enough, so she started screaming for help.Officer Robert Ayala and Officer Rafael Guadelupe rushed over right away."Officer Ayala stepped in, I handed her to him. He sat down and so quickly started performing what he needed to do to make sure she was OK. And I sat on the floor panicked. I just wanted to make sure she was OK," she said.Finally, the chicken was removed and Lucia was able to breathe again."They're our heroes. They are the best, best angels we could've had that day at the mall," Jaramillo de Graham said.Lucia was immediately checked by EMT staff at the mall. Despite the close call, baby Lucia is 100 percent healthy."They knew exactly what to do to save her life," Lucia's mother said. "So, thank you so much officers because if it wasn't for you guys, we probably, definitely wouldn't be here with our Lucia."Jaramillo de Graham recommends all parents take classes so they can properly administer CPR or life saving techniques to children if they are choking.On Thursday night, those officers were honored by city council and Lucia's parents. 2260
