BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni here on Tuesday.

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the opening meeting of the session, which runs from Monday through Friday.

"U.S.-Japan alliance arrangement originated in the Cold War. We strongly oppose using this arrangement to undermine the interests of third parties," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said.

Dvorkovich said that Russia attaches great importance to the expansion of pragmatic cooperation with China, and that Russia is willing to continue to work with China to actively advance bilateral cooperation on major projects, such as high-speed railways, and further deepen cooperation in energy and other areas.

"Candid, good-will and objective coverage of the history and reality of the two countries is always desirable. We need to clarify confusion and seek common grounds while shelving differences to promote mutual trust," she added.
