"The international community is a global village and should not engage in zero-sum games. The future of the world should be decided by all countries, with international rules written by all, global affairs jointly governed by all, and development progress shared by all. China is willing to work with other countries to build a community with a shared future for humanity," said the Chinese president.

Liu said that in some parts of the world, there is the rise of protectionist and egoist policies, where a belief in the "zero-sum game" is fanning chaos and danger in the international community.

"Party and government officials at all levels should regard poverty alleviation as an important political task, and the responsibility system on poverty relief work should be further implemented," the statement said.

Wang Yang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), stressed that financial risk prevention was connected with national security, the overall development situation and the safety of peopel's property.

Other countries, he added, are welcome to take part in China's economic development, share its market opportunities, and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, which has now become a new platform for international cooperation.
