(KGTV) - A U.S. Marine and a young woman were arrested Wednesday for the death of a man whose remains were found in Joshua Tree National Park.Curtis Krueger, 30, was taken into custody near Twentynine Palms Air-Ground Combat Center. Ashlie Stapp, 27, was arrested on the campus of Copper Mountain Community College in Joshua Tree, KABC reported.Investigators said Krueger and Stapp killed 54-year-old Henry Stange. His partially covered remains were found June 2 in a shallow grave in Joshua Tree National Park.The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department determined the crime scene was located in the city of Murrieta.Police did not immediately announce a connection between the two suspects or a motive for Stange’s death.Krueger and Stapp are charged with Homicide and Conspiracy. 810

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (AP) — A prosecutor in the trial of an Iowa father whose infant son was found dead and maggot-infested in a baby swing last year has told a jury the child "died of diaper rash."Assistant Iowa Attorney General Coleman McAllister told jurors Tuesday that 4-month-old Sterling Koehn had been in the same diaper for nine to 14 days when his body was found in the swing Aug. 30, 2017, at his parents' Alta Vista apartment, the Courier reported .The baby's father, 29-year-old Zachary Paul Koehn, is charged with murder and child endangerment. The boy's mother, Cheyanne Harris, is also charged and faces a separate trial at a later date.McAllister said Tuesday in opening statements that the baby's heavily soiled diaper had attracted bugs that had laid eggs, which had hatched into maggots. The resulting diaper rash led to ruptured skin, and e.Coli bacteria set in."He died of diaper rash. (KGTV) — Border Patrol agents arrested a man Wednesday after more than 70 pounds of cocaine were found inside inside his vehicle.Border Patrol agents stop a suspicious vehicle at about 7 p.m. on Interstate 215 near the Muerrieta Hot Springs exit. A K-9 officer was used to search the vehicle and detected possible narcotics.During the search, agents said they located 27 bundles of cocaine stashed inside the vehicle's front and rear seats and underneath seats.The bundles weighed about 70 pounds, with a street value of about 6,450. The driver, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested and turned over to Drug Enforcement Administration.The bust capped off drug seizures totaling about 117 pounds within the last 72 hours, according to Customs and Border Protection.“In the last 72 hours San Diego Sector has seized over 117 pounds of lethal narcotics worth more than ,300,000,” said Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke. “Thankfully these dangerous drugs will not reach our local communities.” 1020
