Police arrested a Gilbert, Arizona man accused of stealing nearly ,000 worth of items from Home Depot. Chandler (Arizona) Police report that from February 2012 to February 2018, Antoine Elkik, 57, made nearly ,000 by stealing goods from Home Depot stores in Maricopa County. Police say Elkik would legitimately purchase products, put them in his car, then immediately go back to the store with his receipt and select the same products and exit the store. If he were questioned, he would show the sales associate the receipt from the prior purchase. He would later, reportedly, return the stolen products to the store for a refund. Police say he purchased 402 items since 2012, returning all of them for refunds. Home Depot Organized Crime Investigators said, "Antoine was identified through analytical reporting in which he was showing a high amount of refunds." He was arrested on March 27 and has been charged with 30 counts of retail theft. 997

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- A poor raccoon is expected to be OK after it got its head stuck in a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli. Officers with Charlotte County Animal Control in Florida took the raccoon to the Peace River Wildlife Center for help Monday after a resident found the animal in her backyard.The juvenile raccoon needed to be sedated so the can could be carefully clipped away and pulled off. He only had minor injuries. 444

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) — Poway developer Kevin McNamara is hoping to convince residents to support a new plan to add 160 homes to the property which was formerly the Stoneridge Country Club. The golf course was closed after a previous development plan was defeated by voters in 2017.McNamara calls his development "The Farms at Stoneridge." It has an agricultural theme, including hiking trails, parks, community gardens, a butterfly farm, and an amphitheater for public performances.The property is owned by real estate mogul Michael Schlesinger. His 2017 campaign to replace a portion of the golf course with condos was rejected by Poway voters. Schlesinger shut down the course the next morning.McNamara tells 10News he has negotiated an option to buy the land from Schlesinger, dependent on his ability to get city and voter approval on the new plan. He says it is important for a local developer to take over the property. "I've been involved in almost everything that's gone on in this city for 20-plus years. I like to think I can be trusted," McNamara said.Some residents have held out hope the City of Poway would take over the land to re-open the golf course. However, McNamara says the city has no interest, as projections suggest an annual 0,000 loss. (CNS) - Customs and Border Protection officers found 560 pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine, worth nearly million, cemented inside several quartz boulders at a cargo crossing at the Tecate Port of Entry near Potrero, the agency reported Wednesday.Officers broke open the boulders around 10:45 a.m. Monday after a big rig driver arrived at the border crossing with a shipment listed as "multiple tons of beach pebbles and stones," according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.Cemented inside the quartz boulders, officers found 229 packages wrapped in black electrical tape, officials said. The packages included 337 pounds of methamphetamine and 223 pounds of cocaine, worth a combined estimated street value of roughly .9 million.Officers seized the big rig, the drugs and the rock shipment."Hard to believe, but this isn't the first time CBP officers in California have had to actually break open rocks or other items to get at the narcotics that drug trafficking organizations have hidden inside," Jose Haro, officer in charge of the Tecate Port of Entry, said in a news release. They are asking for the public to share any images from Alexander's Corner to Rodman Avenue between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday.The United States Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to ,000 to anyone with information that could lead to an arrest.“She is like the most upbeat mail carrier.
