LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A third person who served on the grand jury that weighed charges against the police officers involved in the raid that led to the death of Breonna Taylor says she felt the investigation was incomplete.In an interview with The Associated Press, the woman said she thought prosecutors wanted only to give the officers involved "a slap on the wrist and close it up.""I felt like there should've been more charges," she told the AP in a phone interview.Taylor was killed on March 13 when officers conducted a narcotics raid on her apartment. Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, said he drew a gun when he heard a pounding at the door. He maintains officers did not identify themselves and says he fired at officers when they breached the door, thinking they were intruders.Officers returned fire, killing Taylor. Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who investigated the case, said officers were justified in returning fire because they were fired upon first.While officers say they did identify themselves as police and say a witness in the building also testified that they heard police ID themselves, several of Taylor's neighbors are on record as saying they did not know who was at the door.One officer, Brett Hankison, was charged with a crime in connection with the incident. He faces three counts of wanton endangerment for firing his gun toward the apartment building following the raid. No officers faced charges in connection with Taylor's homicide."All of (the officers) went in blindly, you really couldn't see into that lady's apartment as they explained to us, there was just a TV on," the grand juror told the AP of Taylor's apartment. She added that officers "went in there like the O.K. Corral, wanted dead or alive."The grand juror told The Associated Press that she was surprised that they were not presented with the opportunity to consider other charges. She also took issue with Cameron's justification in September that grand jurors had "decided" not to charge the other officers with a crime."I felt like he was trying to throw the blame on somebody else, that he felt like, we as jurors, we weren't going to (speak) out," she told the AP. "He made it feel like it was all our fault, and it wasn't."Typically, grand jury proceedings are held in secret and details of their investigations are held tightly under wraps. But following Cameron's press conference, a judge issued a ruling that allowed grand jurors to speak publicly about the process. LOS ANGLES (CNS) - The FBI Friday released a more specific location of that person wearing a jet pack spotted in the air by pilots just west of the Long Beach (710) Freeway in the Cudahy and South Gate areas.The pilot of American Airlines flight 1997 radioed the LAX tower Sunday evening to make the unusual report of somebody apparently flying at about 3,000 feet with a jet pack.The FBI released a map with the location of the pilot and advised, "Anyone with info about activity on or above the ground at the location depicted here should call the FBI." 563

McDonald's hopes new breakfast items will draw more customers to the golden arches.The company announced Tuesday that it would expand its breakfast menu. The new items, along with local deals and low prices, should help "win back customers at breakfast," said CFO Kevin Ozan during a call with analysts.With the new items, McDonald's is aiming to reverse a troubling trend: American customers are eating elsewhere.Sales in the United States grew by 2.4% in the third quarter, but that was mostly because people spent more. The number of American customers declined.Over the past couple of years, McDonald's (MCD) has tried a number of different strategies to boost its US business. It put self-order kiosks in restaurants. It added new menu items. And McDonald's added delivery.That helped boost sales among existing customers. But those initiatives, part of a massive effort to modernize its US restaurants, haven't helped McDonald's hold on to existing customers or bring in new ones.The company believes a revamped breakfast menu could help."It's very competitive out there at breakfast," said CEO Stephen Easterbrook. "We're still losing a little share ... it continues to be a battleground," he said. "We want to do better at breakfast."McDonald's didn't offer details on what the new items will be.In recent years, Taco Bell has found success with its breakfast offerings. The chain started serving breakfast in 2014 and now sells items like the naked egg taco, which has a fried egg for a shell. Dunkin' (DNKN), which offers a two-sandwich deal for breakfast, has also done well in the morning.Competitors have upped their game and McDonald's may have "lost a little bit of ground" on breakfast over the past few years, said Morningstar analyst R.J. McDonald's announced it's tripling the amount of scholarship money it's offering to its employees to help them get a college degree.Eligible crew members can receive up to ,500 per year and managers can make up to ,000 a year, up from 0 and ,050 respectively.One of the workers who has taken advantage of the program is Jackie Southam from Henderson, Nevada. She's been working at McDonalds for the past 8 years.During that time, she's risen to become a manager, and she's also gotten help from McDonald's to earn a bachelor's degree from Nevada State in biology with a minor in chemistry.With the additional funding increase, she's planning to go back this fall and pursue a master's degree in public health.Her goal is to become an epidemiologist and work for the Centers for Disease Control.She says she's had to pay her entire way through school working two jobs, and the scholarship from McDonald's helped her get through.Right now, UNLV costs around ,100 a semester for state residents, and the College of Southern Nevada is around ,400, plus other costs like books and transportation.McDonald's isn't alone though. Working for several other large companies can also help you get assistance with tuition. Best Buy, Walmart, Verizon, and Bank of America all offer similar types of help.  1333
