LOUISVILLE, Ky. – This year’s Kentucky Derby will be held with spectators, but “under strict guidelines."Churchill Downs Racetrack made the announcement Thursday after consulting with Gov. More information on ticketing and seating areas will be released in the coming days and also will be sent directly to ticket holders.Access throughout the facility will be severely limited.Credentials for employees, media and guests will be reduced.Barn area access will be restricted to essential personnel. Guests and parties in the barn area for morning workouts and during race days will be eliminated.Changes in venue operations to limit person-to-person touchpoints.Team member protocols established to protect employees and guests.A revised "Fan Code of Conduct" will also be in place that establishes expectations for guests coming to the Derby:Guests will be consistently and frequently encouraged to wear a mask at all times unless seated in their reserved seat or venue, including when riding on a shuttle, traveling through the venue, going to the restroom, placing an in-person wager, and purchasing food or beverages from a concession stand. Guests will be asked to wash their hands for 20 seconds or sanitize them frequently.Guests will be encouraged to socially distance themselves from others when possible.Tickets purchased for the originally scheduled Kentucky Derby Week dates are automatically valid for the new race dates. MALIBU (CNS) - More Malibu residents forced to flee the Woolsey Fire were back home today, in time to face a rain forecast for Wednesday that raises fears of possible mudslides as the estimated date for full containment of the fire was moved back to Thursday.Since erupting Nov. 8 in Ventura County and quickly spreading into Los Angeles County, the fire has charred 96,949 acres and was 94 percent contained by Monday morning, up from 91 percent earlier in the day.Full containment had been projected to occur Sunday, but that estimate was initially pushed back to Monday and then to Thursday.RELATED: Frantic search goes on for missing after Camp FireThe number of structures destroyed across the two counties has been raised to 1,500, with 341 damaged. About 95 percent of the burn area assessment has been completed. The death toll stands at three civilians, and three firefighters have been injured. (AP) — Officials say a pregnant woman jumped into the water to save her 30-year-old husband when a shark latched onto his shoulder as he was snorkeling in the Florida Keys.The attack happened Sunday morning along Sombrero Reef, off Marathon. Andrew Eddy had just gotten into the water when the shark bit into him.Deputies say the Atlanta man's wife, Margot Dukes-Eddy, dove into the water without hesitation and pulled him to safety.Medics waiting on the beach flew Eddy to Miami for treatment. His condition wasn't available, but deputies described the injury to his shoulder as severe.No one else was injured by the shark.The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the shark was described by witnesses as being 8 to 10 feet long.“This was a very rare medical crisis for the Florida Keys, but everyone came together — including those witnesses on the boat to 911 Communicators to all our emergency responders — in order to ensure this victim received life-saving care,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay in a press release. 1035
