VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) — A nine-hour standoff between San Diego SWAT officers and a Valley Center man ended with the suspect peacefully surrendering to authorities.William Halverson was arrested hours after the standoff unfolded in the early hours Saturday. He faces multiple charges, including domestic violence, elder abuse, and felon in possession of a firearm, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.Deputies were called to a home in the 12000 block of Lilac Knolls Road just after 10 p.m. Friday over a verbal argument. When authorities contacted the victim inside the residence, they say they learned a dependent adult was immobilized inside.Halverson made several statements he would "kill anyone who come on his property, including law enforcement," SDSO says. Uber's IPO will likely arrive before the end of the decade.CEO Dara Khosrowshahi confirmed on Thursday that the company's "target" is to go public in 2019. The move is a departure from his predecessor, Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, who had tried to put off an IPO as long as possible."We have all of the disadvantages of being a public company, as far as the spotlight on us, without any of the advantages of being a public company," Khosrowshahi said on stage at the New York Times DealBook Conference in Manhattan."Travis and the whole board now agree that we should just go public," he added.Uber currently has a valuation of billion, which makes it the most highly valued startup in the world. The company has raised more than billion in capital since its founding in 2009.SoftBank, the Japanese conglomerate, has also been in discussions with Uber for a massive private investment expected to total in the billions. TRUCKEE, California — A furry four-legged visitor has been caught on camera entering a law enforcement facility.The California Highway Patrol says a black bear wandered into their Donner Pass Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility on the night of November 17.It didn't appear the furry fella needed much help either. The bear easily stands on its hind legs to open the door and then reverts back to all fours as it enters to apparently inspect the facilities vending machines.Donner Pass shared the video of the 'breaking and entering' on their Facebook page.    586

U.S. Marshals arrested a man they say paid ,000 to come from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Florida to have sex with a 7-year-old.William Ball is a music teacher at the Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai, but is from Mississippi.The federal indictment only lists the charges and does not give details about the alleged crime, but during a bond hearing in federal court in Tampa, the prosecutor explained that Hall was using the internet and a cell phone to set up and meet a 7-year-old.The prosecutor said he paid ,000, bought a plane ticket and traveled to meet the child.When he was apprehended, the prosecutor says he had items for a child, condoms and lubricant with him.The prosecutor also said they have extensive internet conversations regarding the case, which is being handled by the Department of Homeland Security.He is being charged with soliciting a minor for sex and child pornography. 923
