SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County sheriff's deputies fished a man out of the ocean in Del Mar who they say rammed a Border Patrol truck at the end of a dangerous chase.According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's North Coastal Station, it all started when deputies tried to pull the man over in a blue Smart car driving with no lights or a license plate.The driver failed to stop and took out a road sign then drove the wrong way down Coast Boulevard in Del Mar around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.A few minutes later, the man crashed into a Border Patrol truck at the dead-end of 15th Street. No one was inside the truck at the time.Border Patrol agents spotted the driver running towards the beach.The man jumped over the bluffs' edge and plunged naked into the water, where he spent two hours in the surf.He was taken into custody after he was fished out of the ocean by a Border Patrol boat around 4:15 a.m.Deputies are currently attempting to identify the suspect. 982

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police officers on Friday were working to get a suspect to surrender after a reported shooting.Police say a shooting between the two vehicles occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of Scripps Westview Way in Scripps Ranch. No one was injured in the shooting.The person who was shot at told police he knew where the suspect lived and officers responded to an apartment complex at 9700 Scripps Westview Way.Officers were trying to get the suspect to come out as of 3:15 p.m.10News is following this breaking news. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego City Councilman Chris Cate sent a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom's office on Monday, asking that comedy clubs in San Diego be allowed to reopen safely.The letter requests that performances be allowed to reopen in outdoor settings, with shows lasting no longer than an hour."We're not talking about concerts here where thousands of people are sitting next to each other," Cate said. "These are performances that are done while folks and individuals are having dinner in a restaurant setting, properly distanced, why should they be treated any differently?"Earlier this month, some comedy clubs, like The Comedy Palace in Kearney Mesa, moved their comedy shows outdoors, only to find out they were in violation of public health orders and made to stop.George Salek, co-owner of The Comedy Place, said they have a lot of outdoor space, and people were able to observe social distancing."Eighty people is what we're trying to put in 5,000 square feet," he said. "It's really safe."Cate said San Diego's entertainment industry is an important part of the economy."I think anyone who can fit the confines of what we want to have done," Cate said. "If you're all able to comply with all, you should be allowed to reopen absolutely." 1259

A recent study from HotPads, a Zillow-owned site, says San Diegans can pay ,270 per year in overlooked costs and fees that come with moving. She says some buildings even require tenants hire move-in coordinators to make sure things go smoothly and not disturb other residents. The biggest financial issues that arise for renters come at the end of a lease, when it comes to getting a security deposit refunded, Steingrebe said. She said the best defense is to document with photos and text any damage or issues that occur throughout the year, starting with an initial move-in inspection. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County has served Pacers Showgirls International with a cease and desist order in violation of health orders days after San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham was stabbed outside the strip club.The county's letter says the Midway District strip club was allowing "live entertainment," like exotic dancing, "in violation of the Order of the State Health Officer and County Order of the Health Officer and Emergency Regulations."Under the county's current tier for California's pandemic guidance, San Diego County restaurants are allowed to operate outdoor in-person dining and indoor in-person dining at 25% capacity, but live entertainment is not allowed.The county's letter says if the strip club doesn't suspend its entertainment, it can receive a misdemeanor citation and ,000 fine for each violation. The facility could be ordered to close as well.The order says the violations were reported after Pham was stabbed in the parking lot outside the strip club on Sunday night.San Diego Police said Pham was involved in an altercation.
