SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while on Interstate 5 late Sunday.The pedestrian was on southbound I-5, just north of Cesar E Chavez Parkway, just before 11 p.m. when a vehicle struck and killed the person, according to the California Highway Patrol.Several vehicles hit the person after the initial crash, CHP added.CHP said it's unclear why the person was on the freeway and whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.I-5 was closed between Cesar Chavez Parkway and Logan Avenue while CHP investigators responded. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A patient at a North Park dental office got upset after she got hit with surprise fee.Two Thursdays ago, Linda Morrow - donning a mask and gloves - went to Pristine Dental Group for a root canal and bone grafting. After the procedure, Morrow, who doesn't have dental insurance, paid cash for the bill. It was in line with the estimate."The total bill was 0. I didn't have change, so I gave them 0 because I only had bills," said Morrow.Morrow says when no one in the office could make change, the receptionist spoke up."She commented, 'Oh, PPE.'" said Morrow.Morrow says her new bill was for 0 dollars, including a charge for personal protective equipment used by the dental staff."That shut my mouth. I was stunned," said Morrow.Confused, Morrow paid the full amount and left."My concept was that it was definitely an afterthought. If I had exactly 0 or my debit card, I would not have had to pay the charge," said Morrow.Morrow posted details of the charge of the Nextdoor app. Quickly, several neighbors responded that they also have paid similar charges at their dentist offices, ranging from to . SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man was stabbed to death outside a Pacific Beach 7-Eleven store late Friday after an argument with another man.The man was stabbed moments after he walked out of the convenience store at about 1 a.m. Saturday, according to San Diego Police. The victim, a 40- to 50-year-old man, got into an argument with another man outside the store before he was stabbed in the upper torso.The suspect, a black male in his 20s or 30s and dressed in a black shirt and dark jeans, fled the scene with a skateboard, police say.San Diego Fire-Rescue paramedics performed life-saving measures upon arrival but the victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. They have not been identified.A portion of Mission Blvd. at Grand Ave. was closed until about 6:30 a.m. to investigate. Police have been in contact with local businesses to gather evidence and possibly surveillance video that may have captured the incident. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man caught on video peering into a Pacific Beach home has neighbors on edge.The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she was woken up by the sound of police officers knocking on her door in the area of Mission Blvd. and Emerald St. early Tuesday.Officers told her that her neighbor was alerted to an individual in the alley between their residences by his security camera.
