The company's goal is to help connect homeowners or businesses who have empty parking spots, with people who need them.The owner or business can list their spot on the Park Connect website, and select a daily, monthly or hourly rate. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police officers on Friday were working to get a suspect to surrender after a reported shooting.Police say a shooting between the two vehicles occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of Scripps Westview Way in Scripps Ranch. No one was injured in the shooting.The person who was shot at told police he knew where the suspect lived and officers responded to an apartment complex at 9700 Scripps Westview Way.Officers were trying to get the suspect to come out as of 3:15 p.m.10News is following this breaking news. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego City Councilman Chris Cate sent a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom's office on Monday, asking that comedy clubs in San Diego be allowed to reopen safely.The letter requests that performances be allowed to reopen in outdoor settings, with shows lasting no longer than an hour."We're not talking about concerts here where thousands of people are sitting next to each other," Cate said. "These are performances that are done while folks and individuals are having dinner in a restaurant setting, properly distanced, why should they be treated any differently?"Earlier this month, some comedy clubs, like The Comedy Palace in Kearney Mesa, moved their comedy shows outdoors, only to find out they were in violation of public health orders and made to stop.George Salek, co-owner of The Comedy Place, said they have a lot of outdoor space, and people were able to observe social distancing."Eighty people is what we're trying to put in 5,000 square feet," he said. "It's really safe."Cate said San Diego's entertainment industry is an important part of the economy."I think anyone who can fit the confines of what we want to have done," Cate said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diegans could be in store to begin receiving checks from the federal government in April, according to a proposal released Wednesday. The proposal, from Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, is part of a plan to stimulate the economy as the coronavirus outbreak continues to lead the nation toward a recession. The checks, which could be upwards of ,000 or more, could come in April and May. The money could help San Diego workers who are seeing their hours reduced or jobs eliminated get by while efforts continue to flatten the curve. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Ride-sharing service Uber is expanding its dockless transportation offerings in San Diego Wednesday, introducing e-scooters to the city's streets.Uber's JUMP e-scooters will work similarly to the company's JUMP bicycles, allowing users to either reserve a scooter or walk up to one and unlock it via the Uber app.The scooters also bear a similar resemblance to competing Lime scooters, though instead sporting a red and black color scheme.To kick start the service, Uber is offering free rides and helmets through Jan. 9, 2019. Riders can get up to five, 30-minute rides per day.
