SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- China and South Korea can borrow judicial experiences from each other, Chinese Chief Justice Wang Shengjun said here Friday.There is significant room for cooperation between the judicial courts of the two countries, especially in such areas as administrative management, information technology applications, and training of judges, said Wang, president of China's Supreme People's Court (SPC).Wang praised the information technology applications at the grassroots judicial courts in South Korea.He said that his visit to South Korea was fruitful and hoped that the two sides would expand exchanges and cooperation further and make contribution to the development of the relationship between the two countries.Wang arrived here Sunday to visit at the invitation of the Supreme Court of South Korea.During the visit, Wang held talks with various South Korean judicial officials and discussed topics of common concern, such as judicial systems and reforms.

BERLIN, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said here Thursday that China and Germany should join hands in expanding economic cooperation to achieve mutual benefits.Speaking at a dinner with German and Chinese business representatives, Li said that China has the capability and condition to maintain steady and relatively fast economic growth in the long run.But he added China is still a developing country and that it needs to make long-term and strenuous efforts to achieve its modernization goals and enable all the Chinese people to enjoy the benefits of economic and social development.On China-Germany relations, Li said that the two countries, through close cooperation and coordination, have achieved an early and robust recovery from the global financial crisis.Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang delivers a speech during an evening dinner with Chinese and German business people in Berlin, Germany, Jan. 6, 2011. He noted bilateral trade is expected to exceed 140 billion U.S. dollars last year, 30 times more than that of 1990.The Chinese leader said both sides should broaden fields of cooperation and set up new mechanism of collaboration.The two countries should not only deepen cooperation in traditional areas like machinery, chemical industry and automobile industry, but also explore new cooperation in new energy, new material, energy efficiency, environmental protection, low-carbon technology and green economy, Li said.He called for more two-way investment, adding that bilateral trade still has great potential for further expansion.Li also expressed the hope that Germany keeps its market open and opposes trade protectionism along with China.He said that China will take a more open attitude to the outside world, and will continue to improve investment environment, and provide a fair, stable, orderly, transparent and predictable market environment for all foreign companies in China.While stressing that both sides should expand technological cooperation, Li urged Germany to simplify visa procedures for Chinese businesspersons, and to help relax European Union (EU) restrictions on high-tech exports to China.In addition, the two sides should intensify cultural and people-to-people exchanges, laying a more solid foundation for bilateral ties, Li said.Stressing that China attaches great importance to its relations with the EU, Li said China wants to see a united and prosperous EU, and hopes to promote political mutual trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation with the bloc and push forward the Sino-EU comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.Li expressed confidence that Europe will overcome its current economic and fiscal difficulties, and maintain its economic stability and healthy growth.Earlier on Thursday, Li met with German Economy Minister Rainer Bruederle.The German minister pledged to advance Germany-China economic ties and invited China to be the partner country of the Hannover Fair 2012, the world's largest industrial fair.Accepting the offer, Li said that China is willing to use the platform to showcase "made-in-China" products and boost exports of Chinese manufactured goods.The Chinese vice premier arrived in Berlin earlier in the day, kicking off a four-day official visit to Germany. He is due to hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and meet President Christian Wulff and Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Friday.Before arriving in Germany, Li had visited Spain. He will later travel to Britain, the last leg of his three-nation European tour.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said here Wednesday that important consensus was reached during his talks with U.S. President Barack Obama."We had an in-depth exchange of views and reached important agreement on China-U.S. relations and major international and regional issues of shared interest," President Hu told a joint press conference with Obama following their meeting.The Chinese leader said both sides "agree to further push forward the positive, cooperative and comprehensive U.S.-China relationship and commit to work together to build a China-U.S. cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and mutual benefit so as to better benefit people in our own countries and the world over."Chinese President Hu Jintao and U.S. President Barack Obama attend a joint press conference at the White House in Washington, the United States, Jan. 19, 2011.Both sides also agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in economy and trade, energy and environment, science and technology, infrastructure construction, culture and education, counter-terrorism, non-proliferation, law enforcement and other areas so as to achieve mutual benefit, according to the Chinese president.Saying his talks with Obama were conducted "under candid, pragmatic and constructive atmosphere," Hu said China appreciates Obama's commitment to a positive and constructive China policy, and to stable and growing China-U.S. relations since he took office two years ago.Hu noted that China and the United States share expanding common interests and shoulder increasing common responsibilities, and voiced support for expanding military exchanges between the two sides."We believe expansion of military exchanges and cooperation will be conducive to deepening mutual trust between our two countries," Hu said.While stressing that China-U.S. cooperation has great significance for the two countries and for the world, the Chinese leader said the two sides "should firmly adhere to the right direction of our relationship; respect each other's sovereignty, territorial integrity and development interests; promote the long-term sound and steady growth of China-U.S. relations and make even greater contributions to maintaining and promoting world peace and development."During President Hu's state visit, the two countries had signed a number of cooperation agreements. "These will inject fresh momentum into our bilateral cooperation and create a great many job opportunities for our two countries," Hu said.On the situation on the Korean Peninsula, he said both countries agreed to work together with relevant parties to maintain peace and stability on the peninsula, promote denuclearization of the peninsula and achieve lasting peace and security in Northeast Asia.The Chinese leader reaffirmed China's firm commitment to the path of peaceful development and a win-win strategy of opening up."China is a friend and partner of all countries, and China's development is an opportunity for the world," he said.Meanwhile, Hu said he and Obama discussed some disagreements in the economic and trade area, with both sides pledging "to continue to appropriately resolve these according to the principle of mutual respect and consultation on an equal footing."Addressing the same press conference, Obama said cooperation between the two countries is good for the two sides and for the whole world."Along with our G-20 partners, we've moved from the brink of catastrophe to the beginning of global economic recovery," he said.Noting China is one of the top markets for American exports, Obama said the annual U.S. exports to China in goods and services support "more than half a million American jobs."He praised China's extraordinary economic growth that "has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty. "This is a tribute to the Chinese people," he added.The U.S. leader also expressed his satisfaction with the reaching of dozens of deals between the two sides that will increase U.S. exports "by more than 45 billion U.S. dollars."Hu, who unfurled his first state visit to the United States Tuesday since Obama took office in 2009, just concluded his eighth meeting with Obama before the press conference.Before the talks, a grand welcome ceremony for President Hu was held at the White House.Hu said at the ceremony that his visit is aimed at increasing mutual trust, enhancing friendship, deepening cooperation and pushing forward the positive, cooperative and comprehensive China-U.S. relationship for the 21st century.

  

BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) --The presidium of the 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a meeting here on Saturday to discuss preparations for the upcoming Fourth Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, which is scheduled to open on March 3.The meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau.The meeting examined and approved the agenda of the 12th session of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, which is scheduled to run from February 26 to February 28 next year in Beijing.Jia Qinglin (C), chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), presides over the 33rd meeting of chairpersons of the 11th CPPCC National Committee in Beijing, capital of China, Dec. 24, 2010.The meeting also examined and approved a draft name list for the secretariat of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and a decision to convene the Session.Zhao Qizheng has been appointed the spokesman for the Fourth Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.

  

BEIJING, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- China would like to work with other governments and international organizations to assure positive results at the upcoming Cancun climate change conference, Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday.Li made the remarks during the China International Green Industry Expo 2010, which was scheduled to run from Wednesday to Saturday in Beijing."With an open and constructive attitude, China will promote international cooperation in green industry and combat climate change, as well as push forward trade, investment, technology cooperation and transfer," Li said.Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang (L front) views an exhibit as he visits the China International Green Industry Expo 2010 (CIGIE) in Beijing, capital of China, Nov. 24, 2010.
