SHENZHEN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday held a grand gathering to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in southern Guangdong Province as the country embarks on a new journey toward socialist modernization.
Over the past 30 years, China's average life expectancy has increased by about three years every decade.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has, on many occasions, stressed the interconnectedness between families and the country, calling on people to value the family, carry on family virtues and dedicate themselves to the country.
Xi made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Argentine President Alberto Fernandez.
"The employment situation remains stable overall. Yet we shall not let down our guard against potential risks. From January to August, 7.81 million urban jobs have been created. We are well-positioned to achieve the target of creating 9 million new urban jobs for the entire year," Li said at the meeting. "That said, we must recognize the challenges in the employment prospect. The unemployment rate of certain groups of populations and regions remains high. Those employed have seen their income shrunk."
