MEXICO CITY, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang on Tuesday arrived in Mexico City, capital of Mexico, to start an official goodwill visit intended to boost bilateral relations, particularly the legislative ties.
One week ago Chinese President Xi Jinping and his ROK counterpart Park Geun-hye confirmed in Beijing the conclusion of substantive negotiations on the establishment of the free trade area, described by Xi as a milestone in promoting Asia-Pacific regional integration.
The two nations stand ready to boost cooperation in such areas as justice, law enforcement, security, rule of law and the fight against transnational crimes and terrorism on the basis of respect for the differences in their social and legal systems, says the declaration.
In remarks delivered upon arrival, Xi noted that bilateral relations have been developing in a healthy and stable manner over the past 42 years and have become a model of equality and harmonious interaction between countries of different sizes.
With frequent high-level exchanges, China and the six countries have deepened political mutual trust, expanded economic and trade cooperation and conducted fruitful cooperation in such fields as people-to-people exchanges, education, agriculture and tourism, Xi said.
