Just like famous diamonds and jewels, there are well known space rocks, too. Like the one found by Apollo 15. “They named it the Genesis Rock, because it’s a part of the primordial crust of the moon,” she says.When studying these samples, scientists take all the precautions, from wearing bunny suits, temperature-controlled rooms and even triple bagging each rock for storing."We try really hard to preserve the rocks so that the science that we learn from the rocks can be trusted," Krysher says.It’s not every day we go to the Moon, so these scientists take time to study the rocks and do it sparingly. They are still breaking rocks over 40 years old. However, come five years from now, they’ll get another chance for more rocks when U.S. astronauts head to the moon in 2024. 1796

Scammers are now finding victims through text message.The Better Business Bureau says tech scams still make up a fairly small number of all reported scams, but they are on the rise.The BBB says scammers are getting smarter and they're sending people texts that appear to come from their bank and they'll say they've found a fraudulent transaction on your account and ask if it was you.You'll likely say "no" because that transaction never happened. So then they'll ask you for your personal information to fix it. The BBB says don't be so quick to hand it over. "When someone reaches out to you — whether it's by phone, by text message, on social media or email — when someone reaches out to you, that's when you need to be especially cautious and not share personal information," says Katherine Hutt with the BBB.If you believe there may be a concern about your bank account, you should be the person issuing the call. Shortly after the body of 52-year-old Vanita Gray was found in her SUV on Houston Whittier at Hayes on Detroit's east side, her boyfriend drove up to a Detroit police scout car and told officers that someone killed his girlfriend. A source said that Gray's 52-year-old boyfriend, who was armed with a gun, also told police that he shot the person who killed her, but the source says the boyfriend didn't have details to support his claim.The only thing police knew for sure was that Gray was dead from multiple gunshot wounds after someone opened fire on her in her SUV. Someone called 911 around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to report a vehicle on the side of the road with bullet holes in the windshield.Twenty-one shell casings were found in the area with some of the bullets hitting the glass window of a nearby furniture store. And it didn't take long for police to go from calling Gray's boyfriend a person of interest to the suspect in her murder. Gray and her boyfriend were living together in a home, less than a mile from where she was killed. She was wearing flip flops and lounge clothes. Gray was reportedly employed in a rehab center. Her boyfriend was on disability, according to his relatives. Right now, Gray's boyfriend, who is on probation for retail fraud, has not been charged with her murder. SHOREWOOD, Wis. — A Wisconsin physical education teacher has been placed on leave after allegedly telling African-American students to reenact slavery and "slavery games."April 1 was a typical day in gym class at Shorewood Intermediate School until seventh-grader Alexis Averette says she was assigned an odd game by PE instructor Jan Zehren. “Ms. Zehren forced me and my partner to reenact slavery in front of the entire class," she said. "When we told her we were uncomfortable she told us we still had to do it."While some students presented dodge ball, others say they were paired up by race and told to reenact "slavery games." When Alexis and her partner proposed another game, the students say they were told it was too common.When Alexis told her parents, her mother and father were shocked. “She came home and she told me she had to reconstruct games ever played during slavery," said Alexis's father, Yuri Averette. "Yeah, I was completely shocked. I knew it was a problem immediately when she said she was uncomfortable."Averette and other parents voiced their concerns to the school. In response, Zehren was escorted out of building and placed on leave.Zehren has taught physical education in the Shorewood School District for 36 years. The school district sent a letter to students and parents saying they were investigating. Parents like Averette are seeking justice and want Zehern fired.“We don’t want (that) here and that’s not just for my child but for any other child. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — What started as a regular day at an Arizona grocery store has led to a life-long friendship. “We saw him just holding this bill and just kind of wandering around," Stephanie Blackbird said. "He didn’t look well ... He looked lost and I couldn’t walk away, I couldn’t in good conscience walk away without at least checking on this man.”Blackbird, and her husband, met Alan Vandevander at a Whole Foods in Scottsdale, Arizona. They helped him get some food, started up a conversation, then parted ways. But the Blackbirds couldn't get the frail homeless man off their minds. They reconnected with him the next morning and helped him get to a hospital. Vandevander was severely malnourished. “He said, 'I’m glad they found me cause I was in trouble,' ” Blackbird said . After getting to know him, the Blackbirds did some digging and found out Vandevander has quite the story. He served in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart, but he had also been missing for 40 years. His family in Indiana had no idea Vandevander was still alive.“I started looking for him in 1990 and I kept coming across dead ends," said Vandevander's sister, Julie Vandevander. She says she last spoke to her brother in the 80s. “I never ever thought I would hear from my brother again.”The two spoke on the phone just before Christmas for the first time in almost four decades. The Blackbirds have spent the last several weeks helping the man find the care he needs, taking him to hospitals and now the VA. Vandevander's sister hopes to fly to Arizona later this month to reunite with her brother. 1610
