(KGTV) - Neighbors in Bonsall who survived the Lilac Fire are anxious about the impending hot, dry, windy weekend.The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Wildfire Warning starting at 10 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday."With it being so hot the next couple days yeah I'm pretty much on high alert," Neighbor Kimberly Marrs said.She was there in December 2017 when her neighborhood lit up. She said homes a quarter mile away burned down.The Lilac fire burned 4,100 acres, destroyed 114 houses and damaged 55, and killed more than 45 horses according to fire officials.Giving Marrs reason to be hyper-aware, "I'm super diligent. I'm always looking at the sky and paying attention... Especially when it gets this extremely hot, especially having gone through the lilac fire, in the middle of it, I get a lot of anxiety from it and that's why I stay on top of it because I want to be super prepared."She said Saturday morning she is going to fill up her gas tank and coordinate with friends so everyone is ready to evacuate at a moments' notice. Another concern she has this weekend is the power staying on."I'll charge everything up in the morning and pull all the plugs in the afternoon... I think there's going to be a just a huge surge in power this weekend so we need to not blow the grid," she said smiling.The California Independent Systems Operator (CAISO), which manages the state's electric grid, issued a Flex Alert for the weekend. They're telling people to avoid heavy energy usage between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. from Friday through Monday.Marrs hopes everyone takes her message as motivation to stay safe this weekend, "pray we don't have extreme Santa Anas, we get through this heat wave, stay cool, stay indoors, stay hydrated." 1764

Bill Cosby's sentencing hearing is set for September 24 and 25, according to a court order from Judge Steven O'Neill.Cosby was found guilty last month of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004.The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, although the actual sentence is likely to be much shorter."He was convicted of three counts of (indecent assault), so technically that would be up to 30 years," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said after the verdict. "However, we have to look at a merger of those counts to determine what the final maximum will be."Some legal experts have said they do not think Cosby will spend any time behind bars. His defense team has said it will appeal the guilty verdict, and it is possible that O'Neill will allow Cosby to remain on house arrest until that appeal is resolved.For now, Cosby is not permitted to leave his Pennsylvania home. If he does leave the state for another home, it would have to be arranged ahead of time, and he would have to wear a GPS monitoring device, the judge ruled.Janice Baker-Kinney, who testified that Cosby drugged and raped her in 1982, said he should spend time in prison."I believe that it's essential he spend time in jail, and it wouldn't break my heart to see him spend the rest of his life in jail," Baker-Kinney said after the verdict.In general, judges can take any number of factors into account when issuing a sentence. BLACK FOREST, Colo. — A young buck gored a Black Forest woman Friday and now Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers have cited a neighbor for her illegal contact with the animal.CPW cited Tynette Housley, 73, with illegal possession of wildlife and illegally feeding wildlife after she told officers she took a days-old fawn into her home more than a year ago and raised it. They also issued a warning for possession of live wildlife without a license for keeping the animal in her home, garage, and property.CPW said the victim was walking her dog along a wooden path Friday morning when the 1.5-year-old buck attacked her. The victim told CPW she thought the deer wanted to be "snuggled" when it approached her. When she extended her hand to the deer, it lowered its antlers and jabbed her abdomen.The victim then grabbed the deer's antlers and they fell to the ground. It continued to gore her until she got to her feet, tried to run to a neighbor's home, and, eventually, her own garage. The deer continued to attack her until she ran between two cars in the garage to getaway.She was hospitalized for serious lacerations to the top of her head, left cheek and legs, but is expected to recover.A young buck approached an investigating CPW officer near the victim's home with blood on its antlers acting aggressively and the officer euthanized the deer.“This buck showed no fear of the woman and her dog. And when our officer responded to the scene, it approached within a few feet," said Frank McGee, area wildlife manager for the Pikes Peak region. "This tells me the deer was very comfortable around people. Dangerously comfortable. It viewed humans as a source of food.”According to CPW, human conflict with wildlife is increasing throughout Colorado, particularly in Front Range communities where human populations are expanding. McGee is concerned similar attacks will happen if people don't take state laws forbidding feeding wildlife seriously.“We had a young boy attacked in Colorado Springs in June. And we had a 72-year-old woman attacked and seriously injured in Black Forest in 2017. All three are lucky the results weren’t much worse,” McGee said.Housley could face up to ,098.50 in fines and surcharges from the two misdemeanors.The deer was taken to a lab to test it for rabies and other diseases. Its stomach contents confirmed humans were feeding the deer. The incident remains under investigation.“We can’t say it enough: Wild animals are not pets,” McGee said. “Feeding deer habituates them to humans. They lose their fear of humans and that leads to these outcomes that are tragic for both wildlife and people. BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- Deputy Jacob Pickett of the Boone County Sheriff's Office was shot and killed in the line of duty last week after a shootout with a suspect during a car chase.Pickett is survived by not only his two young boys and wife, but by his K-9 partner, Brik, who was by his side on the day he was fatally shot.Brik honored his fallen partner at his funeral by stopping, alone, in front of Deputy Pickett's casket. And as a dog would, he wagged his tail, as a final salute to a man with which he had an unbreakable bond.Brik followed a K-9-only procession, going by Deputy Pickett's casket to pay their last respects for a fall comrade.You can watch video of the service in the player above.   731

BARABOO, Wis. — Wisconsin school officials are launching an investigation after a photo of a large group of male students from Baraboo School District holding up what appears to be a Nazi salute surfaced online.The social media post went out around 9 p.m. on Twitter and has since has been deleted reported Channel 3000. The photo depicts a large group of white, male students posing on the front steps of a building, seemingly before a school dance.
