DALLAS (AP) — American Airlines began booking flights to full capacity Wednesday, despite record surges in the novel coronavirus across the country. The airline previously announced it would start booking to full capacity last Friday."As more people continue to travel, customers may notice that flights are booked to capacity starting July 1,'' the airline said in a statement. "American will continue to notify customers and allow them to move to more open flights when available, all without incurring any cost.''American isn't the only airline doing this.United Airlines already do not block any seats. But other major U.S. airlines including Delta and Southwest leave middle seats open or limit bookings to creating space between passengers to minimize contagion. Almost all U.S. airlines require passengers to wear face masks, and in a few cases, they have banned customers who refuse to comply. American says it will notify customers when a flight is likely to be full and will let them change flights at no extra cost. 1033

Days after the release of the Sterling Brown arrest video, the Milwaukee Police Union president said using a stun gun on the NBA player might have been the right thing to do.The Milwaukee Police Association President Mike Crivello told Scripps radio station 620 WTMJ in Milwaukee, it is possible those officers did the right thing."If they didn't feel as though they were getting control of him before he could get control of whatever that was in his pocket. Tasing may have been appropriate," Crivello said.Crivello said he could not see what was happening during the struggle with Brown after an officer asked him to take his hands out of his pockets. That was right before Brown was taken to the ground and stunned. He also suggested the use of a stun gun could have been prevented if officers always worked with a partner. That's something the MPD Chief Alfonso Morales said he's focused on."We have worked exhaustively in the last three months to really try to figure out how we are going to handle this situation and move forward from it," Morales said. The Milwaukee police chief answered some questions about the video Wednesday, but still is not saying much.Morales has known this moment was coming when he and his department would be responding to the stunning and handcuffing of Brown. "We're really working at putting our officers back at the district. We're looking at community-oriented policing," Morales said. The chief is backing up his apology with a promise that officers will get new instructions on how to handle themselves with the public."Absolutely retraining, but here's the biggest and one of the things I brought up when I was campaigning for this position is leadership," Morales said. "This is leadership and that's what we're focusing on and changing our department." 1827
DENVER (KMGH) -- You could call it the very definition of the old expression of being in "the right place at the right time" when several emergency room doctors saved a man's life at a Denver sandwich shop. The doctors happened to be in town for a conference of ER doctors. They were on a lunch break Monday afternoon at Snarf's on Champa when the man walked in and collapsed."He went into cardiac arrest. His heart stopped beating, stopped pumping blood," said Dr. David Levy. Levy was alongside several of his former residents and a pair of emergency physicians from New Jersey, who all jumped into action."We did chest compressions. We shocked him with the [defibrillator]," he explained. The man was without a pulse three separate times, but the team was able to revive it in time for medics to arrive and transport him to the hospital."Everyone expects this to happen in a hospital in a controlled environment, but when you’re there, and it happens on the floor of a restaurant it takes you by surprise," Levy said. "He would have died if no one was there to intervene."As of Monday night, the man had survived the ordeal and was being treated in the intensive care unit. And what did this group of hero doctors do next?"We washed our hands, sat down, and finished our lunch," Levy said.Levy would go on to win three separate awards that night as part of the convention, the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. 1478
