CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) — A Silicon Valley tech CEO is apologizing after he made racist comments and cursed at an Asian-American family that was celebrating a birthday. Raymond Orosa, his wife Jordan Chan, and their kids were celebrating her birthday on July 4th at the Lucia Restaurant & Bar in Carmel Valley, when they say a white man started yelling racist things about Asians.The incident was captured on a video that shows the man cursing and hurling racist insults and the server ordering him to leave."Trump is going f*ck you," the man is heard telling the group. "You f*cking Asian piece of sh*t.""The man in the video is Michael Lofthouse, a CEO of Bay Area-based cloud computing startup Solid8.In a statement issued to media, Lofthouse admits making the comments and says he will be reflecting on his behavior.“My behavior in the video is appalling,” the statement read. “This was clearly a moment where I lost control and made incredibly hurtful and divisive comments. I would like to deeply apologize to the Chan family. I can only imagine the stress and pain they feel. CALIFORNIA — Thousands of San Diego residents are saving big by "buying nothing."It's just past 9 a.m. on a late November in Bay Ho and lots of pieces of bread, rolls and muffins are ready for taking. Becky Sloan is the first to arrive.The food is set up outside the home of Tomira Baca-Craig, who runs a food co-op that divvies out extra bread donated by bakeries and stores. On this morning, she posted the giveaway on her "Buy Nothing" Facebook group.It's not just bread. Sloan showed reporters with KGTV in San Diego photos of baseballs, crafting items, shoes for her children and home decor, just some of the stuff she's received in the last two years. (KGTV) - Carlsbad neighbors banded together to finish the hike of a woman who was stabbed to death in Hosp Grove Park.Dozens of hikers descended upon the trail Saturday afternoon, honoring 68-year-old Lisa Thorborg.Thorborg was walking or jogging, according to police, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday when she was attacked.RELATED: Carlsbad police: Woman found dead on hiking trail was stabbed to death"We loved her, though many of us didn't know her. I didn't know her personally, but you could definitely tell she had a sweet spirit," Neighbor Theresa Dooley said.Dooley said she was shocked and deeply hurt by the news. She said neighbors had been discussing what happened on the Nextdoor app and organized a walk for Thorborg."Some would like to finish the walk she began, some of us might walk various areas of the park here," Dooley said.Dooley said they wanted to wash away the fear surrounding the park, "we don't want our parks taken away from us, we don't want to live in fear, we want to be able to enjoy this, we want families to be able to come out here."Dooley added she will be taking precautions now when she hikes, "as women, it's probably important to have a partner with us, someone that we're hiking with."A tipster led investigators to identify a suspect as white or Hispanic, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a husky build and a tan complexion with dark hair.
