The puppy had some minor burns and was taken to Valley Oak Veterinary Center in Chico for treatment.BCSO says that the property owner reportedly had several dogs and was not able to locate the one that was left behind before evacuating in time.Deputies decided it was only appropriate to name the dog "Trooper" after finding it alive.A social media post by the department was filled with gratitude and heartwarming messages, as Northern California has seen the North Complex Fire burn 258,802 acres through Butte and Plumas counties since Aug. 18. (KGTV) – Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor was unable to start Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after his lung was reportedly punctured on accident by a team doctor during pregame treatment.Sources told ESPN that Taylor was suffering from cracked ribs and a team doctor inadvertently punctured his lung while trying to administer a pain-killing injection.Taylor suffered his rib injury during last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.Citing sources, ESPN reported the NFL Players Association is investigating the incident. Doctors have advised Tyrod Taylor not to play "indefinitely” due to his punctured lung. (KGTV) — Saturday, California reported that the San Joaquin Valley region, which includes 12 counties, ran out of space in its ICUs as COVID-19 cases climb.The state's website says the region, which has been under the new regional stay-at-home, has hit 0% ICU capacity. The region includes Calaveras, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, San Benito, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Tuolumne counties.The region's capacity sat at 4.5% a day earlier.Last week, the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California regions were placed under the state's stay-at-home order for falling under 15% ICU capacity.The Southern California region, which includes San Diego, Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, was at 5.3% ICU capacity on Saturday. A 12-year-old boy and his 7-year-old relative are safe after taking a family SUV on a joyride from New York City to the Delaware border, according to police.Authorities say the children took off in a Range Rover from a Queens home in South Ozone Park just before 9 a.m. Monday.With the 12-year-old at the wheel, police say the children crossed the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and drove through New Jersey.They were stopped by authorities at a rest stop on the New Jersey-Delaware border, according to police.Investigators say neither of the children or any other drivers were hurt during the incident.This story was originally published by staff at WPIX. 660

A 17-year-old high school senior was killed, and another student was wounded on Wednesday during a shooting at Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama, according to Al.com. "We're not just talking about some person, we're talking about losing a part of our future,'' Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin told Al.com. "Our hearts are heavy."The surviving student, who is a junior at the school, is reportedly a member of the high school's football team. He was released from the hospital by Wednesday evening, and was also questioned by police.The high school senior's family identity has not been released as authorities are in the process of notifying family members. Birmingham Police Sgt. Bryan Shelton told reporters on Wednesday that the shooting appears to have been accidental.
