The two countries, he said, should stay true to their original aspiration, adhere to their consensus, firmly hold the steering wheel of China-France relations, strengthen exchanges, deepen cooperation, maintain close communication and coordination on major international and regional issues, so as to push for greater development of the bilateral relations.

The new development paradigm does not mean "a closed-door circulation," but "will enable China to open up wider and share more opportunities for common development with other countries," Xi stressed at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Dialogues.

China hopes the meeting will set goals and take actions to ensure the protection of global biodiversity in the years ahead, Xi said.
