CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - About 100 people came to worship at Glorietta Bay Park in Coronado on Friday.The 'Saturate OC' event was held by a Southern California congregation. They hold worship services and baptisms along beaches and waterfronts.It is the second 'Saturate OC' event in San Diego County in back to back weeks."It would be hard to understand if you're not a believer, but we prayed about it, and thought this was the next place we were supposed to come," said Parker Green, co-director for 'Saturate OC.'They held a worship service in Oceanside on Aug. 28, which drew hundreds of people. There were people seen not wearing face coverings or social distancing at that event.Green says they have face coverings at the event to people who want them. They also provide hand sanitizer. He also added he doesn't know of one person that got sick from their events."People can wear masks or not, we tell them to bring masks on our social media, but I think the crowd we tend to draw would be folks that would wear a mask in a public setting, especially outside," he said.People at the Coronado worship service appeared to be more spaced apart than those in the Oceanside event.Members of the county's Safe Reopen Compliance Team were at the event talking to people. CINCINNATI, Ohio — A SWAT officer with the Cincinnati Police Department was suspended after reports he allowed a civilian to don parts of his uniform on Halloween, Lt. Steve Saunders confirmed Friday. Officer John Neal was placed on administrative duty pending the results of an internal investigation. His LinkedIn profile lists him as a K-9 handler as well as a SWAT officer with the department; Saunders said he was off-duty when the incident occurred. Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies and at least two Cincinnati lieutenants were called to Anderson Towne Center early Thursday morning, according to body camera recordings released by the sheriff's office. In one recording, a deputy mentions receiving reports of a man in SWAT gear harassing patrons.When deputies arrive, the man in question identifies himself as Neal's friend and claims to not have realized donning Neal's gear would be a problem. "I've known him for years," he says. "I didn't know this was a [expletive] issue. It was just a Halloween thing."Later in the same recording, the man asks one deputy what will happen to Neal.“It ain’t good, I can tell you that,” the deputy replies. “It’s pretty [expletive] stupid for this to be happening right now.”A bartender at a nearby restaurant told deputies the men arrived in the patrol car. (KGTV) -- A man was hospitalized late Monday night after police say he was stabbed while on an MTS bus.According to Coronado police, the stabbing took place along State Route 75 and Leyte Road around 11:30 p.m.Passengers on the bus say it began when two men got into an argument.Witnesses say the victim was stabbed six times.The victim was taken to UCSD Medical Center, and his current condition is unclear.Police say one person is in custody. 469

CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man's peaceful visit to Coronado's Dog Beach turned into one of major concern when he saw boat debris lining the shore.Todd Tremelling feared the dogs and marine life would eat the materials. Tremelling was at Dog Beach over the weekend when he saw a boat stuck along the fence that separates the public part of the beach from Naval Air Station North Island.The boat is one of about a dozen abandoned boats that have washed ashore due to storms. On Saturday, he saw a crew from the base removing the boat with a backhoe."They were using the bucket to beat it into a million pieces, or probably 10 million," said Tremelling, who regularly takes his two dogs to the beach. When he returned on Sunday, he saw the shoreline was lined with boat debris, including wood paneling, fiber glass, and foam that lined the hull. Tremelling filled a bucket with the debris before an animal could eat it. "They need to do a better job," said Tremelling, of the removal. Sandy Duchac, a spokeswoman for Naval Air Station North Island, said crews follow strict procedures when removing the boats. "At the end of the day we do everything we can to remove the debris from the boats that people allow to come ashore," she said. "There's very little we can do about teh debris that ends up on the Coronado side."Duchac said the Navy has removed about a dozen boats that washed ashore after storms in the last year. It's almost impossible to identify the owners because the boats are often abandoned and the ownership information has been removed.It costs taxpayers about ,000 to remove each boat.  1646
