Bed Bath and Beyond said on Wednesday it plans on closing approximately 200 locations nationwide over the next two years.The news comes after the company temporarily closed 90% of its locations nationwide during the coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in a 77% drop of in-store sales in the spring quarter of 2020.Bed Bath and Beyond said the move to close 200 locations will right-size its real estate portfolio. Bill Lee, a businessman from Franklin, has won the Republican primary for Tennessee Governor.Lee defeated three other GOP front-runners in a crowded primary field for the nomination, including Rep. Diane Black. Black had the endorsement of Vice President Mike Pence and was widely seen as President Trump's first choice for the nominee.Lee will face former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean in the general election in November. The two will vie to succeed popular Republican Governor Bill Haslam, who’s hitting term limits.Lee is a cattle farmer and chairman of a mechanical contracting, facilities, and home services company.The Republicans' focus on conservative credentials and loyalty to President Donald Trump, including tough talk on immigration, incited in-fighting among some of the candidates about who's not as conservative as they claimed during their campaigns.Each of the four Republican candidates added millions of dollars in personal wealth to their campaigns, amounting to a record-setting total of about million.Karl Dean was elected Nashville Mayor in 2007 then re-elected in 2011.He took a commanding lead early in the night with nearly 80 percent of the vote and saw an even bigger share in Davidson County where he approached 90 percent of the vote.He was one of two well-known names on the Democratic ticket for Governor. Brayden Harrington, 13, was highlighted moments before Joe Biden accepted the Democratic nomination for president on Thursday at the Democratic National Convention.Despite the stutter, Brayden spoke with confidence about his kinship with the former vice president. Biden said he too had issues with stuttering when speaking growing up.Brayden said he used tips given to him by Biden to help him prepare for his speech Thursday at the virtual convention. “[Joe Biden] told me that we were members of the same club: we stutter. It was really amazing to hear that someone like me became vice president,” Brayden said.Brayden said during the Democratic Convention that he looks up to Biden."Kids like me are counting on you to elect someone we can all look up to, someone who cares, someone who will make our country and the world feel better," Brayden said.Brayden said he met Biden at a campaign event in New Hampshire in the days leading up to the state’s primary.
