(KGTV) — A SWAT team with the San Diego Sheriff's Department arrested a former high school speech therapist on Friday morning.Arturo Avina, 33, was taken into custody on the 1000 block of Shadoridge Drive in Vista.He had been working as a speech therapist at Rancho Buena Vista High School from August of 2017 until January of 2019, according to Lisa Contreras, a spokesperson for Vista Unified School District.In February, investigators allege, he began sending menacing messages to former colleagues. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for a man they say was acting suspicious outside an Islamic center in Vista in late March. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the man was seen taking pictures on the Tri-City Islamic Center on March 30. When someone at the center saw the man taking pictures, they invited him inside. When the man saw there were people inside the center, he took off running, deputies say. Witnesses describe the man as Hispanic in his late 20s, about five feet, seven inches tall with a lean or muscular build, short, dark hair and a blonde beard. He was last seen wearing a red hat, dark gray sports coat and blue jeans. Anyone who sees something suspicious is asked to call the department at 858-565-5200 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. The incident happened shortly after a fire was set at an Escondido Mosque on March 24. The fire, which caused minimal damage the building, was extinguished by members of the mosque. WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday halted a deportation in progress and threatened to hold Attorney General Jeff Sessions in contempt if the mother and daughter weren't returned to the U.S.U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan of Washington learned in court that the two plaintiffs in a lawsuit before him were being removed from the United States and confirmed later that they were on a plane headed to Central America. He said any delay in bringing them back would be intolerable.If they fail to comply, the judge said, Sessions, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and other senior Homeland Security officials would have to convince him not to hold them in contempt of court.The Department of Homeland Security was bringing the pair back to the United States on Thursday after the plane landed in El Salvador. Now, it'll remain open until 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in November, as well as on three Sundays: Nov. 8, 15, and 22, according to the calendar.Magic Kingdom will stay open until 9 p.m. throughout the week, beginning Nov. 9 up through Thanksgiving weekend.The calendar also showed that Epcot would close at 9 p.m. on Fridays and 10 p.m. on Saturdays. (KGTV) - A 10-year San Diego Sheriff's Department employee has been arrested for groping a 14-year-old girl at a North County restaurant this year.Timothy Wilson Jr., a 32-year-old Vista detention center deputy, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of felony lewd act on a child for the March 21 incident.
