“We take all of our consumer’s concerns seriously and our quality assurance team investigates all cases when we are contacted directly about someone who has encountered a reaction when using our products. Importantly, all Banana Boat products undergo rigorous testing to ensure they are appropriately labeled and meet all relevant health regulations, including SPF tests. For some people, sensitivity to an ingredient can be triggered or exacerbated by the sun. Such a photosensitive or photoallergic reaction can result in an exaggerated skin rash or sunburn. In more severe cases, blistering may also develop. We encourage people who have concerns about a burn to visit a dermatologist who can determine the type of burn, or a reaction to sunscreen itself, and advise on appropriate treatment.Edgewell Personal Care does not comment on pending or ongoing litigation but as always, we invite anyone with a concern to contact us directly at 1-800-723-3786. As is our practice, we will work with each family to understand and address their specific circumstances. We are dedicated to providing safe and effective, high-quality sun protection and you can confidently use Banana Boat products as intended.” 1211
“The District has intentionally misrepresented the court’s ruling. This preliminary ruling does not exonerate the District or in any way resolve the ultimate legal question of whether the BCSD followed the law when it canceled summer school without first consulting with parents and parent advisory committees.” 319

(KGTV) - Most people agree that volunteering can be fun.For that past five years, Corrine Gerstein has been having fun while dedicating every other month to making Bows For A Cause – her non-profit charity that Cori started when she was just 13.She makes thousands of hair bows every year and then hand delivers them to nurses at Rady Children’s Center oncology unit for the young cancer patients. 405
(KGTV) - Not many people have a Coronado bridge story like Bertha Loaiza.Loaiza was 3-years-old in August of 1985 when her mother jumped from the 246-foot tall bridge holding her.The mother and daughter were unconscious when fisherman pulled them out of the harbor. 24-year-old Angelica Medina never took another breath, but responders were able to resuscitate Bertha.“Honestly it’s hard for even me to believe,” said Loaiza, who suffered a broken hip and cataracts in her right eye from the incident, “My memories blocked out — but I’m good now.’Growing up, her family told her that her mother died in a car accident, but she figured out the real story as a teenager after watching an old news clip.“It makes me sad she didn’t have the resources that are available to everybody today,” said Loaiza. Now 36, Loaiza says she was angry at her mom when she first found out. Now, she wants to do something positive in her mom’s legacy.“The ledge is not high enough,” said Loaiza, “We need to put more barriers.”Loaiza is a member of the Coronado Bridge Collaborative and is among those stumping for suicide barriers along the Coronado bridge.Caltrans debuted several designs for the barriers earlier this year, but funding and approval from agencies involved remain the biggest hindrances. Loaiza knows it’s difficult to stop someone from harming themselves, but she believes making it harder for those that want to will have an impact.“I just want to know that I’ll have saved one life,” said Loiza, “And it will all be worth it."If you or a loved are contemplating suicide, call the suicide helpline number at (888-724-7240). 1656
