A Beach City, Ohio, woman was arrested for allegedly running an officer off the road while police were chasing her boyfriend.Angela Moseley, 43, is facing several charges, including felonious assault, complicity to failure to comply and obstruction of justice. She was picked up Thursday afternoon in Akron by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.Police released body and dash camera video of the incident, which took place Sunday afternoon.According to Sgt. From social distancing markers on the floor to hand sanitizer at the door ,this is the new norm for hotels operating during a pandemic. “It’s been very difficult in hospitality with COVID-19,” said Sarah Treadway, president and co-CEO of Stout Street Hospitality and Magnolia Hotels, a hospitality company with hotels across the country which had to lay off 95% of its employees during the COVID-19 crisis. “Many of our employees have worked for us for more than 30 years,” Treadway said. “So, it’s been devastating.” It’s devastating both emotionally and financially as coronavirus concerns have closed down thousands of hotels around the world. “A lot of people are feeling a lot of pain,” said Chip Rogers, president and CEO of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Rogers says about two thirds of all hotels have laid off at least half of their workers. He added that many hotels that closed due to COVID-19 might never reopen. “In fact, the experts say the industry will not fully recover until 2023,” Rogers said. To hopefully help expedite that timeline, industry leaders are now focusing on ne-w safety standards. Marriott International is rolling out a new Commitment to Clean Program which claims to go above and beyond normal protocols. In Las Vegas, a city with 150,000 hotel rooms, MGM Resorts has started working with medical experts to develop a plan that will allow them to safely welcome guests back. Back at Magnolia Hotels, their increase attention to details is paying off. “I’m very proud to say none of our staff members have come down with COVID-19 because of our cleanliness standards from the beginning,” Treadway said. This extra cleaning, however, comes at a cost. This results in less drug use out in the neighborhood as well and an opportunity to connect people to services,” said Rita Shashin with The Works. Every user who comes to the facility sits in a waiting room after injecting. They are monitored to make sure there isn’t a delayed overdose and so they are not high on the streets. Then, the user sits and talks to a councilor about personal issues, maybe what is leading to their use, and also about the idea of going to rehab. Hundreds of users who have visited The Works, have gone to rehab. About 1,000 people have overdosed but every one of those lives were saved. In fact, not a single safe injection site around the world has reported an overdose death in its facility and overdoses in the respective surrounding communities have gone down, in some cases by 30%. “Look no one involved with Safehouse, myself included, says this is the answer to the opioid crisis. This is the answer to one small segment of the opioid crisis,” said Rendell. According to the National Safety Council, 51 children died in 2018 from pediatric vehicular heatstroke. Last year's figure tops the previous record of 49 related fatalities set in 2010. The Council said that an average of 38 children die a year in the United States from being left in a hot car. Since 1998, 47 states have had at least one pediatric vehicular heatstroke fatality.
