More than 5,000 people could still be missing in Indonesia, following a powerful earthquake that hit the island of Sulawesi last week, officials said on Sunday.Thousands of people are believed to be missing in the towns of Baleroa and Petobo, where rivers of soil swept away entire neighborhoods in the aftermath of a 7.5-magnitude earthquake and ensuing tsunami on September 28.The confirmed death toll from the quake has now reached 1,763, with 265 people missing in central Sulawesi's largest city, Palu, the spokesperson of Indonesia's Disaster Management Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, told reporters in Jakarta on Sunday.Almost all of the dead have been buried in mass graves. More than seven months after Hurricane Irma a Vero Beach, Florida woman is still feeling the effects of the damage.Her vehicle was totaled from flooding and sold. But that sale is still costing her because of one item she left behind on the car: her license plate.Now, her family wants to keep anyone else from making the same costly mistake.Jamie Portell’s mother lives at Indian River Estates assisted living in Vero Beach.Portell rode out the storm with her mother there.The next morning, they realized her mother’s car flooded.“The seats, the electric, she couldn’t adjust anything,” Portell explained. The carpet was soaked.They called the woman’s insurance company, State Farm, and said someone came out, looked at the car, totaled it and arranged for it to be towed away.About a week later, Portell said she took her mother to a local State Farm location to pick up a check.“We didn’t think anything more about the car, until about four months later she received, from the state of New Jersey, a bill with the picture of the back of her car,” Portell said.The letter was a toll road fine.“She was very upset not knowing what had happened to the car,” Portell said.  They called State Farm and asked the agency to take care of the mishap.“Another 3-4 weeks later, she gets another bill from the state of New Jersey with another picture of her car,” Portell said. Multiple people were injured Thursday when a school bus collided with a dump truck and flipped over in Mount Olive Township in Morris County, New Jersey, officials said.The Associated Press reports that one adult and one student were killed.Mount Olive Mayor Rob Greenbaum, who saw the aftermath of the highway crash from an overpass, described the scene as "horrific." He told HLN Thursday there were possible ejections in the crash.At least three hospitals have received patients from the accident, including two believed to be children, officials said.The bus was transporting students from East Brook Middle School in Paramus, New Jersey, according to a school official."Our hearts are broken by today's tragedy," Gov. Phil Murphy said in a Facebook post after arriving at the school.Jay Faltings, who drove past the scene about five minutes after the crash, told HLN he saw children being rescued from the wreckage.Faltings said the front of the dump truck appeared to have been sheared off and the school bus was "ripped off its frame" after hitting a guard rail and flipping over."It's like nothing you've ever seen before," he said.Faltings said first responders appeared to have removed the children from the scene."They were young kids," he said.
