As two countries grieve the ambush killings of six children and their mothers, Mexico's president has set up a special commission to find the killer or killers.More than 200 shell casings were found at the scene of Monday's attack near the Sonora-Chihuahua border, commission member Marcello Ebrard said Wednesday.Secretary of Security Alfonso Durazo said gun caps at the scene came from a weapon made in the US.But the discoveries haven't gotten officials any closer to arresting whoever killed three mothers and six of their children in the grisly attack. The three mothers drove together in a convoy for added protection, family members said."All of a sudden, bullets just rained from above, from on top of a hill, down on top of them," said 756
BUFFALO, New York — Many 3-to-4-year-old students in Buffalo, New York schools are coming to class without being properly potty trained, teachers in the district are now saying.According to the Buffalo Teachers Federation, teachers and teacher aides often find themselves stepping away from class to change diapers. The union now wants the district to create a specific potty training policy."The bottom line on it is, as far as I'm concerned, children should come to school potty trained,” Phil Rumore, President of the Buffalo Teachers Federation, said. “If they're not it's not the kid's fault." This call stems from a survey of teachers conducted by Rumore, who says there needs to be more guidance from Buffalo Public Schools."What do I do? A child soils himself in my class. Who is going to clean the child up and work with the child and the parents? Apparently there is no answer because there is no policy,” Rumore said."We're willing to continue to dialogue with the aides and their representation in the future to hear their concerns and see if we can find common ground,” BPS General Counsel Nathaniel Kuzma said in a statement.BPS’s current policies and guidelines only include potty training support and education geared toward students with disabilities.Under current guidelines from the State Education Department, “children who are not toilet trained cannot be excluded from either Pre-K or kindergarten enrollment”. NYSED recommends districts work with families to develop a toilet training plan. You can read more about the guidelines 1596
BOONE COUNTY, Ky. – Authorities in Kentucky are warning parents of a kidnapping scam. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office says the ruse is commonly known as a “virtual kidnapping ransom scam,” and victims describe it as terrifying and very realistic. Two separate families reported that they received random phone calls from a foreign phone number on Monday and Tuesday. When the parents answered, they heard who they thought were their children saying, “They have me” and “I’m in a van,” according to the sheriff’s office.During the first incident, officers say the purported kidnapper told a father, “If you want to see your daughter again, follow my instructions.” He quickly disconnected the call and contacted his wife, who then confirmed that their daughter was safe and still at school. The second call reportedly included similar threats, along with additional demands. The sheriff’s office says the alleged kidnapper demanded, “All the money you have” and followed up with a threat, saying a mother's child would be killed if she hung up on him. While keeping the culprit on the phone, the mother was able to contact deputies who confirmed that her child was safe and still at school. If you or a loved one receives one of these calls, the sheriff’s office says it’s important to remain calm and immediately begin taking the steps to verify the whereabouts of your child.“It is also recommended for everyone to check their social media privacy settings and to verify what information can be viewed by the public on these accounts,” wrote the sheriff’s office. “This information could be used against you to make the scam seem more realistic.” 1656

BRIDGETON, N.J. – Authorities have released a sketch of a man they want to speak with in the case of a 5-year-old girl who went missing from a New Jersey park. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office says the girl, Dulce Maria Alavez, disappeared from the Bridgeton City Park Recreational Area at about 5 p.m. on Sept. 16. The sketch that prosecutors released Tuesday is of a person who has been reported to have been seen in the park around the time Dulce went missing. A witness who recently came forward says the person was with one or two children under the age of 5 years old. The person was reported to have been wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball style hat at the time. The man is reported to be Hispanic, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a slender build, and between 30 and 35 years old. Prosecutors want to clarify that the sketch is not from the child witness who gave authorities an initial description which led to an Amber Alert on Sept. 17. “We are asking this person (or anyone who may recognize him) to come forward as investigators wish to speak with him as it is believed that he may have information that is helpful in determining the circumstances that led to Dulce’s disappearance,” prosecutors wrote.Anyone who can identify this individual or who has information about the case is asked to contact Bridgeton Police Department at 856-451-0033. The public is reminded that authorities will not question any witness about their immigration status. Information may be supplied anonymously by texting TIP411 subtext Bridgeton. The reward for information leading to the location of Dulce and/or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance is now up to ,000. 1715
