Such was the case for officers in North Ridgeville, Ohio, who received a call from a man who said while walking home from a train station, a pig started following him, and he didn't know what to do.Thinking he had just left the bar in Elyria named the Train Station, police went out to pick up the caller, who they believed was drunk.When officers arrived, they found the man stone-cold sober, complete with his four-legged stalker in tow.According to authorities, the man told them he was walking home from an Amtrak station when the animal decided to go for a walk with him.In the end, the pig was very cooperative and was placed in the back of a police cruiser and taken to the station. Police made the animal feel at home for a bit inside the department's dog kennels until the owner was notified, and it was picked up.Authorities didn't say if the owner was cited for having a pig on the loose.  1021

NEW YORK — New York’s attorney general has sent a subpoena to the Trump Organization for records related to consulting fees paid to Ivanka Trump as part of an investigation into the president’s business dealings. That's according to a law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity. The New York Times reported that a similar subpoena was sent to President Donald Trump’s company by the Manhattan district attorney, who is conducting a parallel probe. The records requests followed recent reporting in The Times, based partly on two decades’ worth of Trump’s tax filings, that the president had reduced his company’s income tax liability over several years by deducting million in consulting fees as a business expense.Records strongly suggested, The Times reported, that 7,622 of those fees had been paid to Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, through a company she owned at a time when she was also a Trump Organization executive.If true, that wouldn’t necessarily pose a problem for Ivanka Trump herself, as long as she paid income tax on the consulting payments, which she reported publicly.It could, however, raise questions about whether the Trump Organization’s related tax deductions were allowable. NEWBURY PARK (KGTV) -- A wind-driven brush fire has erupted in Southern California, burning near structures in the Newbury Park area of Ventura County.Cal Fire says the Hill Fire has quickly grown to 5,000 to 7,000 acres, shutting down both directions of Highway 101, as of 4 p.m. More than 160 firefighters have been dispatched, and eight air tankers have been ordered.At a Thursday night news conference, Ventura County fire officials said they expect the blaze to burn all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Should winds pick up, the blaze could reach the ocean by Friday morning. According to firefighters, the fuel burning hasn't seen a wildfire in a long time, adding to the intensity of the fire. One firefighter did receive minor injuries fighting the blaze. The nature of the injury wasn't specified. The Hill Fire is about 5 miles from the site of a shooting Wednesday night at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California, in which 12 people were killed.It's the second brush fire in the area as another fire, dubbed the Woolsey Fire, had burned about 300 acres to the east in the Bell Canyon area as of 4 p.m.Gusty Santa Ana winds are blowing through Ventura and neighboring Los Angeles counties at about 25-30 miles per hour. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced he is resigning from his office on Monday, just hours after a report surfaced of four women accusing Schneiderman of physical violence against them. Two women, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, spoke on the record to the New Yorker, both saying they had been romantically involved with Schneiderman but that the violence was nonconsensual.According to The New Yorker, Barish and Selvaratnam said he had hit and choked them, and that they later sought medical attention because of it.
