"These feelings bring me to believe that I do not deserve anything, that I do not matter, that I am a constant burden to the world."Wang and the victim's parents urged the judge to impose lifetime sex offender registration due to a variety of factors, including the significant age difference and Bucklew's position of authority in the relationship as a school employee.Wang said Bucklew groomed the victim and maintained his relationship with Jane Doe in a secretive manner, indicating he was aware it was inappropriate. Wang said that upon his arrest, Bucklew directed the girl to delete messages sent between them.Wang said Jane Doe leaned on Bucklew for emotional support amid various issues going on in her life, which Bucklew took advantage of to initiate the physical component of the relationship.Bucklew addressed the court and said he was "extremely apologetic" to Jane Doe and her family.He said he's always tried to make himself available as a friend or coach for people to talk to, as happened with Jane Doe."I see now and I acknowledge my actions were unlawful and where I should have drawn the line, I didn't," Bucklew said. (KGTV) — Sheriff's deputies were led on a wild chase through the South Bay Saturday, ending with a violent crash and three people injured, including a deputy.San Diego Sheriff's deputies were called to a report of a suspect burglarizing a vehicle in the area of 13th St. and Donax Ave. in Imperial Beach just before 10 a.m. When they arrived, the man took off and led deputies on a vehicle pursuit into San Ysidro.During the pursuit, deputies say the suspect hit a female driver on Dairy Mart Rd. before continuing northbound on Interstate 5, onto side streets in Chula Vista, and back onto NB I-5. At times, the driver reached speeds of 100 mph, deputies say.The woman was not injured, SDSO said.The pursuit came to an end when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a bridge at the top of the H St. offramp. A deputy involved in the pursuit crashed into another vehicle at the top of the offramp as well. Both the deputy and that driver were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.The crash was so intense, it rained vehicle wreckage on the freeway below and damaged a woman's windshield. Bridge railings and fencing were also damaged, SDSO said.The suspect fled on foot from the crash, heading down the H St. offramp and onto the shoulder of I-5 before deputies captured him. CHICAGO, Illinois (WGN) — Six people were rescued after an elevator suddenly stopped for several hours in the building formerly known as the John Hancock Center.Around 12:30 a.m. local time Friday, the group was leaving the Signature Room and the elevator was near the 95th floor when two cables broke, causing the elevator to stall near the 11th floor of Chicago’s fourth-tallest building.The elevator ride was faster than normal, those on it said. They later learned they fell 84 floors before their rescue, according to a report by The Chicago Tribune.Fire officials said the elevator was in a "blind shaft", which means there were no door openings.At about 3 a.m., firefighters broke through a brick wall in the parking garage to access the elevator and rescue the group, that included a pregnant woman.No one was injured or needed medical treatment.The John Hancock Center is Chicago's fourth-tallest building. 933

(KGTV) - Loved ones are grieving the COVID-19 death of a South Bay great-grandfather, while his wife fights for her life on a ventilator.George Torres, 67, first started feeling sick in early November."He had a headache, diarrhea, and shortness of breath," said his daughter Rachel Cedillos.Cedillos says his symptoms got worse and in mid-November. George was taken to the ER, tested positive for COVID-19 and placed on a ventilator one day later.Several days later, his wife of 49 years, Alma came down with her own symptoms. By the end of the month, both of Cedillos' parents were on a ventilator.On December 3, George Torres, a grandfather of nine and a great-grandfather, passed away."Oddly enough, I felt panic. Didn't know what to do. All I could do was just cry," said a tearful Cedillos.Cedillos says her father was always joking and laughing, and made everyone feel comfortable."The friendliest man. The greatest man to talk to about anything ... He was silly almost all the time ...
