The State Department is "closely following" the case of Angela Quintal and Muthoki Mumo, two Committee to Protect Journalists staffers reportedly being held in Tanzania, a spokesperson told CNN."We continue to engage with our Government of Tanzania counterparts on a wide range of issues, including those related to human rights," the State Department said in a statement Wednesday. "The United States remains committed to the values of democracy, rule of law, freedom of expression, and prosperity in Tanzania."Quintal, the Africa program coordinator at the Committee to Protect Journalists, and Mumo, the organization's sub-Saharan Africa representative, were in Tanzania for a reporting mission, according to a news release. They were detained on Wednesday in their hotel room in Dar es Salaam by "officers who identified themselves as working with the Tanzanian immigration authority." The officials took their passports and the journalists were taken to an unknown location, the release said."We are concerned for the safety of our colleagues Angela Quintal and Muthoki Mumo, who were detained while legally visiting Tanzania," Committee to Protect Journalists executive director Joel Simon said. "We call on the authorities to immediately release them and return their passports."Quintal sent a message Wednesday from her verified Twitter account saying she and her colleague were "being taken for interrogation by Tanzanian authorities and we don't know why?" Both of the journalists' Twitter accounts are currently suspended.Committee to Protect Journalists Advocacy Director Dr. Courtney Radsch told CNN there was a tweet sent from Quintal's account stating that they had been freed but the organization has "reason to believe that her account is compromised, and therefore do not trust the tweet.""Our sources indicate that they are both still in detention. We have not heard from them directly," she said. 1935

Donald Trump's personal attorney often recorded telephone conversations both before and during the 2016 presidential campaign that likely have been scooped up in the FBI raid on attorney Michael Cohen's apartment, office and hotel room, according to sources familiar with the matter. These recorded conversations, according to one source, were even played back at times to candidate Trump and associates, the source said. Among the recordings were discussions about the campaign and interactions with the media, the source said. This information reveals how extensively the FBI is reviewing Cohen's job as a fixer for Trump as well as his own personal financial entanglements. Some of the recordings may have been on the cellphones or computers that were seized by the FBI during Monday's raid. It's likely to raise concerns among Trump allies that the recordings are under review because of the uncertainty over what was recorded.CNN has also learned that the search warrant sought records relating to Cohen's personal finances and his net worth. One source said Cohen played to Trump and some associates conversations that he had with political and media figures during the exploratory part of the campaign. The source said they were generally conversations about whether the news organizations were going to be fair to candidate Trump. Trump viewed the media relationships as transactional, the source said.Whether Cohen was recording conversations in his Trump Tower office was a source of concern to some Trump associates during the campaign, two former Trump campaign officials said. The Washington Post first reported the concerns Thursday."It's one of the first things people entering Trump world would be told: Don't have conversations in his office. He's recording it," one former campaign official said.As a precaution, some campaign staffers took pains to have conversations with Cohen in the hallway or elsewhere in Trump Tower.Investigators would not immediately have access to any recordings. Anything seized in the raid would first be reviewed by an independent team that would ensure the material was not covered by attorney-client privilege or outside the scope of the warrant.Cohen's attorney Stephen Ryan didn't respond to a call requesting comment. He previously said in a statement that the search was "completely inappropriate and unnecessary." He added that the raid "resulted in the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his clients. These government tactics are also wrong because Mr. Cohen has cooperated completely with all government entities, including providing thousands of non-privileged documents to the Congress and sitting for depositions under oath." 2748

SAN DIEGO — SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Chantal Breyfogle knows all too well the importance of early detection. Even though she has no family history and does self exam routines regularly, she's been diagnosed twice with breast cancer."I feel like I have double the opportunity and double the responsibility to make sure I give other women the opportunity to become a survivor," said Breyfogle.A big part of that is help from the Susan G. Komen Foundation. All of the money raised during their Race for the Cure 5K stays in San Diego. This event helps pay for mammograms, biopsies, support resources, and other medical needs for those who need it.Shaina Gross, the President and CEO of the Susan G. Komen Foundation San Diego Chapter says, " We hear all the time where people have to pay for their medication or their rent. And we don't want anyone to have to make that decision."Added support, Breyfogle says, is helpful as you deal with a disease that affects six women in San Diego a day. This disease also claims the life of one person a day.Breyfogle says, "I hope we will find cures and treatments so the next generation won't have to do this." 1151
