The Phoenix Police Department says the ex-boyfriend of Kiera Bergman, a 19-year-old woman who has been missing since August 4, has been arrested for identity theft.Police say 23-year-old Jon Clark was being questioned in relation to Bergman’s disappearance when police found several items with the personal identification of other people as well as items indicating forgery in his vehicle.Clark was arrested Friday and booked into jail for 22 counts of aggravated identity theft and two counts of forgery.Police have given no indication that this arrest connects Clark to Bergman’s missing person’s case.Bergman was last seen at her home near on Aug. 4.According to police, Bergman never returned home after leaving and has not been seen or heard from since.Kiersten Bragg, Bergman's mother, says her daughter went to work that Saturday morning, and Clark picked her up but she never made it back to their apartment.Police still say her disappearance is considered suspicious, and they are still asking anyone with any information on her disappearance to call 480-WITNESS. 1085

The National Hurricane Center named its eighth tropical system of 2020 in the Atlantic basin on Thursday as Tropical Storm Hanna churns in the Gulf of Mexico.The storm, which had top winds of 40 MPH as of late Thursday, has its eyes set on the Texas coast. The National Hurricane Center issued tropical storm watches and warnings for the Texas coast. The warnings run along from Mouth of the Rio Grande to San Luis Pass, Texas.The National Hurricane Center said it expects the storm to continue to strengthen through landfall.Hanna is notable for being the earliest-forming H storm in the Atlantic. The peak of hurricane season is still seven weeks away.Meanwhile, Hawaii is preparing for a possible strike from Hurricane Douglas this weekend. The jittery stock market is once again heading south.The Dow dropped 327 points, or 1.3%, on Thursday, with selling accelerating after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin backed out of a conferencein Saudi Arabia. The index had been down 471 points at one point.Tech stocks fell sharply, sending the Nasdaq tumbling 2.1%. Netflix declined 5%, while Facebook and Amazon lost about 3% apiece.Stock market volatility is back on Wall Street.
