ORANGE COUNTY, California — A man who reportedly sent an email that warned “this place will burn down” was arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Holy Fire in the Orange County area.The Orange County Register reported 51-year-old Forrest Gordon Clark was arrested by sheriff’s deputies, and U.S. Forest Service officials confirmed Clark was booked into Orange County Jail Wednesday on suspicion of two counts of felony arson, one count of felony threat to terrorize and one count of misdemeanor resisting arrest.Clark is being held on million bail. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.A volunteer fire chief told the Orange County Register that Clark sent him threatening emails last week, including one with the “this place will burn down” statement.In the Register’s report, the volunteer fire chief said that “Clark ran through the community screaming last week and sent an email predicting "Holy Jim, with roots to the Reconstruction Era, would burn.”According to the Register, Clark owns a cabin located in the Holy Fire’s burn area. On Aug. 26, 2017, 15-year-old Damon Grimes was involved in a police pursuit while driving an ATV. That pursuit ended in a crash on Detroit’s east side that claimed Grimes’ life.Using the Freedom of Information Act, 25-hours worth of video from police body cameras and dash cameras, surveillance video and cellphone video shot by witnesses were released that tell the story of the senseless death. They would not provide footage from the dash cam of the pursuit by MSP Troopers, Mark Bessner and Ethan Berger.At 5:31 p.m., the video shows Damon Grimes riding his ATV down Rossini Avenue and Gratiot in Detroit.Bessner requests priority to chase an ATV. “He flipped. Flipped!” said Detroit Police Officer Williams on the radio.“Yup, tell them there’s an accident,” said DPD Officer Boersman, who was first on the scene.Grimes hit a parked Ford F-150 with his ATV and he flew off the four-wheeler.“He’s got a pulse and he’s breathing,” said Bessner.“0-9, he’s slowed down, we tased him and he crashed out. (KGTV) — Oceanside city officials are asking for developers to submit their bids to create an "iconic" downtown sign for the city, similar to areas of the county like the Gaslamp District, North Park, and Escondido.The city's request for proposals calls for a sign that will act as a new landmark and "the heart of the Sunset Market" at the intersection of Tremont Street and Pier View Way.The sign must be an "over-the-road" style sign that spans the intersection and aims to, "create a 'place' that locals and visitors are invited to enjoy for decades to come," the city says.Candidates can submit an initial design by January 13, 2021. The top five candidates will be granted ,000 and four weeks to flesh out their designs, budget, and other aspects. The city's Property and Business Improvement District will then choose the best three to go before a public vote. As part of the lawsuit, the daughters of Baskin’s former husband are seeking more information about what happened to their father, who disappeared mysteriously more than two decades ago. The amended complaint to an earlier lawsuit was filed Tuesday in state court in Tampa by Don Lewis’ three daughters as well as his former assistant, Anne McQueen. The lawsuit says Baskin defamed McQueen by posting a video diary entry on YouTube earlier this month in which she says McQueen played a role in Lewis’ disappearance.
