When it comes to higher education, the candidates for governor could not be further apart, said SDSU associate professor Charles Toombs. "Gavin Newsom wants to expand access to the CSU, and limit tuition hikes for students while continuing the state's reinvestment in the CSU system to ensure faculty have the tools and time to deliver a high quality public education." 369

Villatoro explains that if an accusation against a physician has not been adjudicated, there’s no legal requirement for a physician to notify a patient when he or she is being investigated. “When a physician receives an accusation, it doesn't mean that they're automatically guilty,” he adds. He says the board believes doctors deserve due process and investigations must be thorough, which can take time. 410

Trump's criticism of Mueller, a Republican, also came a day after his personal lawyer, John Dowd, called for an end to the special counsel's probe into Russian election meddling."I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe's boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt dossier," Dowd told CNN in a statement, reacting to the news of McCabe's firing on Friday night by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.Dowd told CNN he was speaking on his own behalf, although he had earlier told the Daily Beast, which first reported the statement, that he was speaking on behalf of the President. Dowd's comment wasn't authorized by the President, a person close to Trump told CNN.The President also called into question news that McCabe had written memos about their interactions. A source told CNN Saturday that Mueller's team has those memos."Spent very little time with Andrew McCabe, but he never took notes when he was with me," Trump tweeted. "I don't believe he made memos except to help his own agenda, probably at a later date. Same with lying James Comey. Can we call them Fake Memos?"McCabe told CNN that he had three in-person interactions and one phone call with Trump.Trump's attacks on the special counsel team will likely reinforce demands by Democrats to protect Mueller's investigation. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Mark Warner, the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, issued calls to defend the probe following Dowd's comments. 1714

Ty Thompson has been removed as the principal of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He and three assistant principals are under investigation by the Broward School District.Teresa Hall, the school's co-principal, will take over duties in the meantime.Broward Schools told WPLG an investigation into Thompson had been opened, but did not offer any more details. The investigation is in relation to last year's shooting.Broward Schools released the following statement:On Friday, March 22, Broward County Public Schools will expand its investigation related to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (MSD) tragedy of February 14, 2018, to include Principal Ty Thompson.During the investigation, Thompson will remain at the school to focus on recovery efforts, and to provide oversight on the construction of the new replacement building. He will continue to participate in student activities and events, including the upcoming prom and graduation, and regional and state competitions. The school’s day-to-day operations will be managed by Principal Teresa Hall, who joined MSD as co-principal in July 2018. Additional oversight and support will be provided by former MSD Principal Dan Traeger. Traeger, who hired many of the teachers and staff currently at the high school, is highly regarded by the staff and the community. He currently provides leadership development for principals in the District. Hall has worked with Traeger as an assistant principal when Traeger was the principal of West Broward High School.District administrators based the decision to keep Principal Thompson at MSD to be in the best interest of the students and teachers. Since the tragedy, Thompson has provided stability to the school and community, and has been considered by many to be instrumental in helping with healing and recovery.“I am confident this approach will allow the investigation process to continue while maintaining consistency for students, families and staff,” said BCPS Superintendent Runcie. The investigation of Thompson and three assistant principals will be completed by the end of the 2018/19 school year.Thompson will remain at the school to focus on recovery efforts and to provide oversight on construction of a new replacement building, the school board says. 2271

was the first to report on Vindman's planned remarks. That phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is at the heart of the Democrats' impeachment inquiry, following a whistleblower complaint alleging that Trump had solicited foreign interference to dig up information on a political rival and the White House tried to cover it up.US officials have previously told CNN that standard operating procedure suggests Vindman also would have been listening in on the July 25 conversation and likely played a role in the handling of the call's transcript. In addition to questions about the content of that conversation, Vindman is likely to be pressed on how the transcript of the call was handled by White House officials who moved to contain the fallout in its aftermath.CNN previously reported that the scramble that occurred in the hours and days after the call, described by six people familiar with it, parallels and expands upon details described in the whistleblower complaint. The anxiety and internal concern reflect a phone conversation that deeply troubled national security professionals, even as Trump now insists there was nothing wrong with how he conducted himself. And it shows an ultimately unsuccessful effort to contain the tumult by the administration's lawyers.Vindman was also one of five Trump administration officials chosen for a US delegation, led by Energy Secretary Rick Perry, to attend Zelensky's inauguration ceremony in May alongside Gordon Sondland, the US ambassador to the European Union, and Kurt Volker, who was then Trump's special envoy to Ukraine. The whistleblower complaint alleges that the President downgraded the delegation, ordering "Vice President Pence to cancel his planned travel" because he wanted to see "how Zelenskyy 'chose to act' in office."Both Sondland and Volker have testified before House committees in the impeachment probe. Perry, described by some as being a key component of the US' relationship with Ukraine, has pledged to work with lawmakers looking into the whistleblower's allegations.A source who 2086
