How often do you turn to YouTube to learn how to do something? Well, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center, roughly half of U.S. adults who use YouTube say it’s helped them learn to do new things. And those behind popular how-to videos are making big bucks. For Greg Wickherst, he began his channel to help other dads struggling just like him. "When I got custody of my daughter, I didn't know how to do her hair,” he says. “I couldn't even do a ponytail, and I didn't want to have her going to school looking like a ragamuffin." Wickherst’s first few videos went viral and he quickly became known as “The Hair Dad.”But it's not just hair tutorials, YouTube is the go-to platform for people to learn how to do stuff. According to the recent study, 41 percent of adults ages 65 and older also turn to the website for help. You can find video featuring anything from how to change a flat tire to how to cook the perfect Thanksgiving turkey to makeup tutorials.Popular self-help videos also bring in the sponsors."The most popular video I have done is called ‘Straw Curls,’” says Wickherst. The father soon had companies reaching out to him, asking him to use their products for some side cash.Wickherst might only make a few hundred dollars from his videos, but there are ones raking in the cash. This kid, Ryan, made million in just one year off of his popular toy review YouTube page “Ryan ToysReview.”Learn more about the study, here. 1483

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - Early Sunday morning, 63,000 gallons of sewage spilled into Tijuana River. A representative with U.S. Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission tells 10News the spill came from the potable water Planetary Aquaduct around 4:30 am. They say Pump Station CILA was unable to divert water from this event and a trans-boundary flow of approximately 63,000 gallons occurred at around 4:30 am. The transboundary flow contained treated and untreated wastewater in addition to storm water runoff and groundwater that has made its way to the Tijuana River. Pump Station continues to operate and no transboundary flows are currently present. 686
In an open letter published Thursday, Goodyear CEO Rich Kramer said that the company would allow employees to wear pro-police apparel while on the job, but still asks that workers not wear apparel in support of a political candidate or party. The letter follows media reports from earlier this week that a Goodyear factory in Topeka, Kansas, asked employees not to wear "MAGA Attire" or "All Lives Matter" apparel but would allow employees to wear Black Lives Matter or LGBTQ+ apparel while on the job. The report prompted calls for a boycott of Goodyear tires from President Donald Trump. On Thursday, Kramer clarified that the presentation that was the subject of media reports was "created by a plant employee," was not "approve or distributed by Goodyear corporate."He also said that employees "can express support for law enforcement through apparel at Goodyear facilities." 885
