(KGTV) — An East County father who lost his young son in a terrorist bombing in Sri Lanka is reacting to the death of the ISIS founder, who claimed credit for that attack.Alexander Arrow and his son, 11-year-old Kieran Alexander Shafritz de Zoysa, often found themselves on the trails of the Oakoasis County Preserve in Lakeside."We couldn't possibly pass anyone on the trail without him saying hi," said Arrow.Arrow says Kieran was friendly and exceptionally bright, with dreams of becoming a neuroscientist so he could help people. This past Easter, Kieran was in the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka, on a semester abroad. He was having lunch with mother and grandmother, when a suicide bomber walked into the restaurant, and blew himself up. The shrapnel killed Kieran, while his mother and grandmother survived.As a father wrestles with his grief, the man who claimed credit for the Easter day bombings that killed nearly 260 people, is dead. ISIS founder, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, blew himself up after U.S. special operations team cornered him in his compound in Syria this weekend."I am grateful to the U.S. commandos who did their job ... grateful to the armed forces trying to make our world a safer place," said Arrow.While al-Baghdadi claimed credit for the bombings, Sri Lankan authorities believe the suicide bombers were inspired by ISIS, but didn't get any direct aid from them. Arrow says because his son's killers also died that day, he was never consumed by a quest for justice. But this death gives him some hope."To the extent there are fewer suicide bombings ... that's a positive thing," said Arrow.Arrow prefers to focus on the legacy of his son, a boy he says embodied everything the terrorists are against."He was about inclusivity. LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office released the identities of the two men killed in a paragliding accident over the weekend. The ME identified the victims as 43-year-old Glenn Johnny Peter Bengtsson, of Carlsbad, and Raul Gonzalez Valerio, 61, of Laguna Hills.Questions still remain regarding the double fatal collision at Torrey Pines Gliderport on Saturday afternoon. The two certified pilots were flying their paragliders when they collided into each other, fell into a cliff, and died, authorities said.RELATED: 2 paragliders dead after colliding in mid-air, crashing into cliffMany who were at the Gliderport said Saturday's weather conditions were absolutely perfect, so they do not believe the incident was weather-related. While many people were flying, they said there were not enough people in the air at the time, so there wasn’t any aerial traffic jam. They both were aware of the rules -- to keep a safe distance between each other, and that the glider along the ocean needs to make way for the one flying along the cliffs, who has the right-of-way. So what exactly happened? Many 10News spoke to said it must have been a freak accident. Now, the Torrey Pines Gliderport staff, San Diego police, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, and the Medical Examiner's Office are working to find answers. So they've approved a bill to keep Daylight Saving Time going throughout the year in their state.It took the state Senate less than a minute Tuesday to pass the "Sunshine Protection Act." (KGTV) - Scientists at Stemson Therapeutics say they've found a way to create new hair cells that could become a cure for baldness."We're hoping this will be the breakthrough," says Chief Scientific Officer Alexey Terskikh.For a few years, they've been working on a two-part process that turns stem cells into hair follicles. It then implants the follicle cells into the scalp to grow new hair."We have the capability to generate brand new hair follicles," says Stemson CEO Geoff Hamilton.Using iPSC's, stem cells derived from a person's blood or existing cells, Terskikh's team can direct them to become folliculogenic cells, the building blocks of hair.They then put the cells into a microscopic scaffold-like mold made on a 3D printer. The molds are about 1/5 the size of a single strand of hair.RELATED: Here are some options if you start going baldThe scaffolds help keep the cells intact, while also telling the hair which direction to grow. That will help avoid in-grown hair or hair that grows in unnatural ways."Imagine transplanting thousands, or tens of thousands of those into a scalp," says Hamilton.Their technique is different from current hair restoration therapy because it grows new hair cells. Existing methods like Rogaine or Propecia try to revive dead cells or transplant existing cells from one area of the body to another."We're inventing as we go," says Hamilton. "We're making up the path ahead of us as we go."Eventually, they say the cost of the new cells will be similar to the cost of hair transplant surgery now, which can run upwards of ,000.In addition to being a cosmetic solution for people who have gone bald naturally, Hamilton says this could help people who have lost hair due to chemotherapy treatment or from severe burns or injuries.So far, testing has proven successful in mice. (KGTV) - The J Company is telling the story of America's founding fathers, with a twist.This spring, they're staging the classic musical 1776 with an all-female cast."We need to support our young women and let them know they can be anything and anybody they want to be if they just put their minds to it," says director Joey Landwehr, who came up with the idea of casting only young women in roles portraying men.The musical tells the story of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and the rest of the Continental Congress as they debated the merits of breaking free from England during the Revolutionary War. Some of the actors say they see the relevance to today's political climate in the story."Even though I know I'm pretty set on my political views, I do understand that other people have their own and that we need to find that middle ground," says Camille Le Saux, who will play Ben Franklin in the show. "That's what this play tends to focus on, and I think that's very relevant today."Others say it's empowering to see young women playing strong, influential men."It's showing that women can be powerful and women can be strong, and women can be angry and upset and passionate," says Caroline Egler. She's playing John Adams, a role she's wanted to tackle since she first learned of the show in 8th grade."Reading through the script again, I realized how beautiful it is and how human it is," Egler says.Rehearsals began this week at the Lawrence Family JCC in La Jolla.
