Less than a week since she lost her husband and the feelings are still raw, "The fire is burning in my chest whenever I see my girls ask about their father. It'ss too hard to face their questions, it's hard to answer their questions about their dad."She tells 10News, her husband left Saturday night to hangout with friends down in Imperial Beach. She says he was planning to be home for midnight but the hours after turned into Monday, "The doorbell rang and I saw there was two police officers and I felt bad. I thought maybe something happened to my husband." Thinking something bad but never imagining it would end up being her worst nightmare, "It's hard for me to believe hes not with me anymore." Thankfully she has support from family members like Zabi's cousin, "I'll try my best to be like a father to Zabi's kids and treat them the same way I treat my kids." Hundreds of passengers on an Amtrak train that became disconnected will have quite a story to tell around the Thanksgiving table.The Montreal to New York train was traveling near Albany, New York, at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday when two cars separated from the engine, Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams said in a statement. Of the 287 passengers and crew, he said, no one was injured. The passengers were transferred to a new train, Abrams said.CNN reached out to Amtrak for further details but has not heard back.Billy Osher-Dugan was traveling to spend Thanksgiving with his girlfriend when he saw the cars separate."It was packed," he said. "There were hardly any seats available."He heard a noise and turned around to see cars behind him rip apart from the train, he said. That's when one passenger pulled the emergency brake to stop the train and others -- upon smelling smoke -- grabbed the fire extinguisher.Luckily, he said, there was no fire and everyone was OK.Helen Mary Crane was with her son on the way to spend the holiday with her daughter. Crane said two cars were added to the train when she boarded in Rensselaer, New York, and that she and her son were told to sit in the first of the additions.Crane's car was one of the two to break off."As far as being with my son," she said. "I was terrified when I saw the sparks and smelled burning and then realized our car was no longer attached. I thought we would derail or be hit by the other train."She said she credits the man who pulled the emergency brake on the runaway cars for the safety of everyone. She identified him as Reuben Clarke, a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute."He saved our lives tonight," Crane said. "Our car broke off from the rest of the train and was picking up speed. There was no Amtrak personnel in our car. Reuben calmly went into action and pulled the emergency brake at the front of the car. In a memo sent to state governors, the federal government says that states should be prepared to begin distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to the public this fall.The memo signed by CDC head Robert Redfield told governors that the federal government has contracted with the McKesson Corporation to assist in distributing the vaccine to local and state health departments, medical facilities, doctor officers, and other vaccine providers.In the letter, Redfield requested governors to waive any regulatory barriers that would prevent McKesson from operating distribution facilities. Redfield said the goal is to have these facilities operational by November 1.According to McKesson, the company provides “next-day deliveries” to pharmacies and has a nationwide network of distribution centers.While there is urgency for both public health and economic reasons for a vaccine, some experts have expressed concern over the speed of a vaccine and whether the expedited timeline is long enough to demonstrate efficacy. (KGTV) — Two men were charged with assaulting two border patrol agents in separate incidents in the Imperial Beach area this week.Both incidents occurred Thursday night, according to the U.S. Attorney of Southern District of California.In the first incident, Imperial Beach Border Patrol says an agent encountered a five individuals at about 9:30 p.m., one of them identified as Frazy Jiron, a Honduran national. The agent ordered the group not to move, but Jiron stood up, according to officials.RELATED: Convicted murderer caught crossing border with migrants near San Ysidro Port of EntryWhen the agent tried to handcuff Jiron, the Honduran national appeared to say something to the others, causing them to also stand and begin to flee, according to border officials. Jiron elbowed the agent in the chest, the agent said, and a struggle ensued, causing both men to fall down a hill.Jiron was later arrested and admitted to being in the U.S. illegally.In the second incident, another border agent in Imperial Beach encountered a man at about 10:45 p.m., identified as Franklin Ariel Rochac-Garcia, border officials said. Rochac-Garcia was reportedly running toward the agent and refused the agent's requests to stop.
