A judge has ruled that a Concord, New York, family's pit bull, known as Chunk, will get a reprieve, at least for now. The 4-year-old Pit bull will return home temporarily. A growing number of states are issuing stay-at-home orders to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus that has already killed thousands of people worldwide. These orders are not necessarily full lockdowns, but they do require residents to stay home except for essential activities, such as grocery shopping, going to the pharmacy, receiving medical care, walking your dog, etc. If you work in an essential industry, like healthcare, food service or law enforcement, you will also be able to travel to your place of employment. Many of these orders also prohibit things like visiting other people’s homes (except to provide care or supplies) and gatherings of more than 10 people.The following states have issued stay-at-home orders:ArizonaOn Match 30, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey issued a declaration entitled "Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected." The order urges Arizonans to limit their time away from home except for "essential activities and functions." A 17-month-old girl who was wounded in the west Texas shooting rampage is expected to make a full recovery.The toddler, identified as Anderson Davis, was one of the 22 people injured in Saturday’s shooting. Davis’ family praised doctors and first responders for saving her life. Texas governor Greg Abbott, citing family members, said the girl would need to have surgery Monday in order to remove shrapnel from her body.The Davis family also said they're looking forward to reuniting Anderson with her twin brother at home soon.Seven people were killed in the shootings. The victims ranged in ages from 15 to 57 years old, according to Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke. One of those killed was Mary Granados, a 29-year-old mail carrier who was on the phone with her twin sister when the shooting occurred.Police say the suspect, 36-year-old Seth Ator, hijacked the mail truck and continued randomly spraying the roads with bullets.The suspect was shot and killed by police. Authorities say Ator had been fired from his trucking job hours before the rampage. However, a motive has not yet been determined. 1118
A man walking along a partially iced-over Lake Michigan in Chicago needed to be rescued by fast-acting officers and paramedics, the department said on Sunday.The unidentified person's rescue was captured on video, and shared by the Chicago Police on Sunday. In the video, two SWAT officers could be seen reaching the man first after a civilian who witnessed the incident ran to get help. It only took seconds for the two officers to reach into the water and pull the man out of the water.According to the Chicago Police, the person was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. 616
