Sunday's liftoff from NASA's Kennedy Space Center marks the first time that Elon Musk's company has two capsules in orbit at the same time. CARLSBAD (KGTV)-- Four years after the devastating wildfires in San Diego County, plants have grown back and neighbors rebuilt and recovered.The 2014 wildfires raged through neighborhoods, up over hills, turning at a moment's notice fueled by the Santa Ana winds. "It looked like a war zone of black smoke everywhere all over the place of all the roads blocked off," Homeowner Bob Payne said.He was at his relative's home when he got the call, and rushed back Carlsbad to see what he could do. He said he was lucky to have been out of town, otherwise he said he would've been on his driveway fighting the flames with a garden hose.His home was one of 65 structures that burned. Firefighters fought as 14 separate fires grew, eventually?covering 26,000 acres.At Bob's home, all that was left was a safe, full of photos of smiling children and their wedding memories. It took two and a half long years, to rebuild. He didn't want to leave their prime hilltop location, close to the beach and to town."It looks different, we changed our house some. We kept the same floor plan but we put in a couple perks in there which is nice," Bob said they had a pool put in and some exterior and interior designer changes.Nearby SDG&E did an update of their own, switching out wood poles for more durable metal ones."It burned up here and the and the fire department said it was 65-foot flames that came up and went to the attic of the house and burned it down," Bob said, explaining the fire flew up one of the poles and arched down to the roof of his home.Bob said he would never forget the generosity of the neighbors and complete strangers who gave everything from clothes, to food, to necessities to help his family through the disaster."I wish everybody a happy's Mother's Day on this day and count your blessings, and just enjoy your family and enjoy your health and everything that you have," saying he's thankful for the things that can't be touched by flames. 1992

CENTERVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Investigators say "recent information" in the 2003 disappearance of Tabitha Tuders led to detectives searching a rural part of Hickman County this week.Metro Nashville Police Department officials confirmed the update on Wednesday morning, saying cold case detectives, along with Urban Search and Rescue officers and FBI agents were on scene.Police spokesperson Don Aaron said the police department has pursued numerous leads in the 17 years since Tuders' disappearance. Aaron said a theory that she may have been on the property in 2003 led to today's search.Tuders was 13 when she vanished in April of 2003. She was on her way to catch the bus near her family's home on Lillian Street in Nashville. She hasn't been seen since.Police described the search area as a six-acre, rugged plot of land with a small, dilapidated house on it. The terrain was described as mostly wooded.Sgt. Charles Rutzky said the search was based on "old and new information." He said information has been developed as to how Tuders possibly got to the property, but that's something they're still investigating.Rutzky said they're looking for any evidence to support the theory that she's been in the area. I think analytics is going to take the game to the next level," said Roger Weingarth, President and CEO of Blast Motion.The company's technology uses a sensor that attaches to the end bat, as high-powered cameras record everything measurable, from bat speed to body rotation. That is a big edge in training athletes and a boon for coaches in search of data for recruiting.Among the company's customers: thousands of high school baseball programs and hundreds of college baseball and softball programs, along with nearly all Major League Baseball teams. For the last decade, Blast Motion has called Carlsbad home. The company has some 80 employees, most of them in Carlsbad. "Having this wonderful combination of education, engineering talent - as well as authentic athletes - is relevant and very important for our success here in Carlsbad. People are very active here, active in sports," said Weingarth.About five years ago, Chris Crawford was one of those athletes. He was a surfer who was tired of getting his car dirty. He invented a pressurized portable shower in his garage in Carlsbad, showed it off at the city's street fairs, before a Kickstarter campaign, viral video, and an appearance on the show Shark Tank helped lead his company Rinsekit to success. The company is one of more than 15 firms that helped turn Carlsbad into an action sports hub. Other companies include GoPro, Prana, Spy Optic and Reef."Carlsbad has a neat energy to it. There is a culture of thinking people that are smart that want to be here. They have access to capital and other resources all around," said Crawford.In all, the action sports business employs nearly 1,900 people in Carlsbad. CAMP PENDLETON (KGTV) - Camp Pendleton marines preparing to deploy are leaving behind a piece of themselves for their children.Thanks to the American Red Cross Hug-a-Hero program the kids will have a doll of their parents to provide comfort during the long months. The dolls have a special message and a pocket for an audio recording. The Red Cross says the program is possible thanks to community donations. They've already provided 1,000 dolls to children this year.  487
