SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Puerto Ricans are living in fear after hundreds of earthquakes rocked the region, according to a San Diegan with family there.Tommy Rosas last lived on the island when he was 14. Though he moved to the mainland, Puerto Rico never left him."It hurts," he said sadly, "every minute of the day, I walk, breathe, sweat, cry Puerto Rico."He's been hurting more for his home since 2017, when Hurricane Maria hit. "My family moved, with the exception of a couple cousins who live in Cabo Rojo." Rosas said friends described the desperate living conditions through social media.Rosas gave a friend a flash light as a gift before he went to Puerto Rico a few months back. He said it was a joke, but now that friend now using it regularly, "he's in Isla Verde, so they lost power there, and it's periodically, it comes and goes. The food supply, water," he said was dwindling.He said a group caravaned from the north side of the island bringing supplies like diapers, formula and juice to those affected by the earthquakes.The positivity keeps Rosas going, "we don't give up, we won't lay down and say okay."He raised ,000 for supplies for the island and is planning another fundraiser. Just before 2 a.m., a motion-activated light flashes, but these vandals are undeterred. With another man and a person on a bike nearby, someone in a cap and hoodie casually begins spray painting the back wall of a home. For more than 40 seconds, he tags the wall, before he and his cohorts leave.It appears they weren't done. 10News found similar tags on fences, and garage door after garage door. A block away at Euclid Elementary, there was more graffiti. Montano's place was spared, but her home has been hit several times before. She says tagging - including the school - is a weekly occurrence."Tagging leads to other activities that aren't safe. My concern as a parent and resident is the children's safety and them walking to school, feeling safe. It allows other people to treat our neighborhood like crap. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police have confirmed that the 19-year-old woman shot near Sunset Cliffs Thursday morning was targeted. Police told 10News they received a call at about 7:10 a.m. from a person who spotted a bleeding woman lying on a staircase next to the beach off Ladera Street, near Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.Responding officers arrived and found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds.The 19-year-old was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center. Police said Thursday afternoon that the woman is in stable condition and was able to tell police she had no idea what happened.Police said they do not have any information on a suspected shooter at this time.Police told 10News they have not been able to find anyone who heard gunshots or saw what might have happened. 792

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police were searching for a suspect following a violent shooting in the Midway District on Wednesday night.San Diego Police said officers received a call of shots fire followed by a vehicle crashing into a building at Kenyon St. and Kemper St. just after 6 p.m. The car was located behind a shopping center in the 3600 block of Midway Dr., SDPD said.Officers arrived to find a man behind the steering wheel of a grey Acura that collided with a retaining wall. The man had been shot at least once. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim has not been identified but was described as a possible Hispanic male between 18 and 25 years old.Police are searching for a suspect, but say the investigation is still in its early stages. Witnesses heard a car speed off, but police did not immediately have a suspect description.
