China has declared the principal contradiction the country faces as the one between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people's ever-growing need for a better life.

China expects parties involved in the ongoing tensions on the Korean Peninsula to make rational and sensible choices and won't allow anyone to make trouble its doorstep, the Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

China has also signed 14 deals on tackling climate change with 13 African nations since 2011, and has donated a large amount of equipment to help countries in the continent cope with climate change, including more than 10,000 sets of solar photovoltaic power generation equipment and launching a small satellite.

China firmly supports the publicly owned sector and unwaveringly encourages, supports and guides the development of the nonpublic economy, ensuring equal use of production factors, fair competition in the market and equal protection under the law for all forms of ownership, the statement said.

China has been sticking to the principles of consultation, contribution, shared benefits, mutual respect and win-win cooperation when conducting financial cooperation with other countries, Lu said.
