BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States will hold the 15th annual Defense Consultative Talks in mid-October in Washington D.C., a Chinese defense ministry spokesman announced on Thursday.

To maintain financial stability, overcapacity of economy, shadow banking and debt accumulated overtime by the local governments are three main challenges facing the Chinese economy, he noted.
