AURORA, Colo – A man is giving a family a piece of their hero back after finding World War II dog tags on a job site he was working on.“They’re going into the mail today,” Michael Huber said in his office, surrounding by old photos and knick-knacks packed away in a box.Huber has all the respect in the world for a man he’s never met, but came across his name in the dirt.“Well, I was excavating on my jobsite,” Huber said. “I was getting rid of some trash and debris from years ago, and I pulled out a bucket and there was something shiny sticking out. I saw what it was and it was dog tags.”The name Gail Sheldon was engraved on the tags.“It said he got his shot in 1943,” Huber said. “Amazing. World War II dog tags.”Doing a little research, Huber found out who Sheldon was.“He was a captain and flew B-24 bomber planes,” Huber said. “He had several missions over Berlin, and he flew during D-Day. He was even shot down one time.”Huber was able to get into contact with Sheldon’s family after a couple of months. He found out from the family Sheldon died in 1990.Huber is now sending back the dog tags along with Sheldon’s pilot wings that he found with the tags. He packs up a box filled with old coke bottles and old squirt guns from that time that he found on the job site.“It could possibly be his family’s,” Huber said.Huber, who has also served in the U.S. Army, said he deeply respects Sheldon. Which is why it's important to send this memento back to the family.“Dog tags to me is part of a person’s being,” Huber said. “It’s a symbol of them giving up everything.” 1584

At a contentious meeting on Monday, the Department of Justice's antitrust chief gave AT&T a choice: to get your purchase of Time Warner done, either sell off CNN's parent unit or DirecTV, or we'll see you in court.The government is holding up AT&T's pending acquisition of Time Warner, stirring speculation that the Trump administration is trying to retaliate against CNN for its coverage of the president.According to two sources with knowledge of the meeting, the DOJ is demanding that AT&T divest all of Turner, the unit of Time Warner that includes CNN as well as TNT and TBS."Threatening Turner is a fig leaf for threatening CNN," one of the sources said.AT&T is said to be reluctant to sell assets, especially Turner, which represents a significant portion of Time Warner's profits.Earlier on Wednesday AT&T said the timing of the deal's closing is now "uncertain.""We are in active discussions with the DOJ," John J. Stephens, chief financial officer for AT&T, said at a Wells Fargo conference.The stock of Time Warner, which owns CNN, fell more than 6.5% by Wednesday afternoon. AT&T was flat.The New York Times and the Financial Times also reported Wednesday afternoon that the DOJ was demanding the sale of CNN or Turner as a condition of approving the deal.The wireless giant previously said that it expected the acquisition to take effect by the end of this year. Authorities say a seventh grader who died by suicide inside a northeast Ohio middle school bathroom last week planned to carry out an attack on the school.According to Jackson Township Police Chief Mark Brink, the Jackson Memorial Middle School student admired the Columbine shooters and had an eight-step plan to carry out an attack.The boy "intended to conduct a school shooting and harm others," Brink said. On Feb. 20, police responded to Jackson Memorial Middle School in Stark County after receiving a call about a student who had shot himself in the boy's bathroom.According to the medical examiner's office, the boy died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.Security cameras captured the 13-year-old on video coming out of the restroom with a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle he had brought to school under his clothes. One woman understands that more than most.To Myrna Hayutin the photos on her gallery wall are more than pictures of the past. She points out some of the art on display.  "This is a limited edition signed by Carl Mydans," Hayutin said. "This is Babe Ruth the last time he put on his uniform."These are works of art."It is history," Hayutin said. "It's just knowledge."And for the last 35 years she's been selling fine art like these pieces, despite the fact that she's legally blind."I anticipate doing this for at least another 10 years," Hayutin said. "As long as my eyesight holds."Hayutin started losing her eyesight when she was eight due to retinitis pigmentosa. And over the years, it's gotten progressively worse."It's like an island," Hayutin said. "As the disease progresses the island gets smaller and smaller now I see through two straws. So you may be standing right here but I am not seeing you. Or if were talking and you move I'll lose you."Still it hasn't affected her love for art or her determination to purse it as a career."It never occurred to me to stop me from doing anything that I really wanted to do," Hayutin said.Hayutin runs a successful international fine art gallery, Gallery M, and recently became an art appraiser."I'm looking at the artwork but honestly thank goodness with my devices I can really zoom in and see them much, much better," Hayutin said.Hayutin said her dog, Gouda, helps her navigate the changes in her eyesight, but what helps most is not focusing on what could happen."I would never have opened the gallery if I was fearful of what would be instead of what was at that time," Hayutin said. "I try to live in today and use the eyesight that I have today."Hayutin said every day is what you make it."There are some days where I'm not as positive as I should be, but I try it," Hauytin said. "I try to get back on that positive I mean because I'm surrounded by all of this gorgeous art and that's very uplifting."  2212
