(KGTV) — One man has been arrested and another person is dead following a North County apartment complex shooting earlier this month.A verbal dispute in the 5100 block of Whitman Way on Aug. 4 erupted into a triple shooting just before 6 a.m., according to Carlsbad Police. Carnival Cruise Lines announced Wednesday that it had canceled most cruises that were scheduled to embark from U.S. through the end of January 2021.In addition, the company announced that all cruises embarking from Baltimore; Charleston, South Carolina; Long Beach, California; Mobile, Alabama; New Orleans and San Diego has been canceled through the end of February and that all cruises on the Carnival Legend that embark from Tampa, Florida had been canceled through March 28.In a tweet, Carnival said that when it restarts operations in 2021, it will focus on cruises embarking from Miami and Port Canaveral, Florida. (KGTV) — A motorcyclist was killed on Friday after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a building in Carlsbad.Carlsbad Police say the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Faraday Ave. just after 3 p.m., when for unknown reasons he lost control and collided into a building.Officers arrived to find the motorcyclist unconscious. The rider, identified as a 29-year-old male from Encinitas, died at the scene.Police don't believe any other vehicles were involved and said it doesn't appear alcohol was a factor. Calls are growing to defund the police. For some advocates, that means divesting from law enforcement in favor of supporting communities. Others want to dissolve departments entirely.
