TULSA, Oklahoma -- The suspect in an Amber Alert and stabbing was seen smiling Tuesday afternoon after her arrest.Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma said 39-year-old Taheerah Ahmad stabbed her 11-year-old daughter on Monday night. The 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in "very" critical condition, where she remains unconscious.An Amber Alert was issued after police said Ahmad also abducted her eight-year-old child. Ahmad was located around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in Tulsa. The 8-year-old child was also found safe. Police said citizens walking in the area noticed the vehicle and contacted authorities. Ahmad was taken into custody without incident. Police said she had been in that parking area for 17 hours before being found. Police said the woman admitted to the crime. Ahmad said she became upset with her children, and bound two of her children's hands with duct tape. She said the 11-year-old child fought back, and she stabbed the child 50 to 60 times and hit her in the head with a pick ax, according to police. She was arrested on counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, first-degree arson and abuse of a child.  1209

Two pilots on different aircraft recently reported seeing unidentified flying objects in the airspace near them.A commercial pilot for American Airlines, who was flying a passenger jet Feb. 24 over Arizona, reported to Albuquerque Center air traffic control between 3:30 and 4:15 p.m. local time that an object seen?flying at 40,000 feet was unidentifiable and had a big reflection, according to The Huffington Post. Audio of the conversation between the pilot and?air traffic control was released by the Federal Aviation Administration to a website called The Drive, a product of Time Inc. In it, the jet's pilot is heard saying the UFO was flying the opposite direction of the airplane at least 2,000 to 3,000 feet above the plane.The FAA did not have knowledge of anything expected to fly above the jet when the UFO incident occurred.The pilot was asked whether he thought it was a Google balloon, and he said, "doubtful," The Drive's military and aviation correspondent reported.Another commercial pilot flying nearby at the same time also reported seeing an unidentifiable object, just after the first pilot's report. Smith is really like most Americans, except he is completely blind.“It’s called retinitis pigmentosa,” Smith explained.It’s a hereditary disease that slowly stole his sight.“Usually, it starts out in the periphery and slowly works its way in until it’s like you’re looking through a tube,” he said.Smith has had to relearn just about everything in his life“You know, things like brushing your teeth, finding clothes to wear,” Smith said. “I probably don’t match very well here today.”Technology has become like a best friend.“I use technology from the moment I get up from probably the moment I go to sleep,” Smith said.This past election cycle, he tried something for the first time.“Anything new or different to a blind person is scary,” Smith said.He voted entirely on his mobile phone using an app called “Voatz”His country was among several in the country participating in the pilot program.
