UPDATE SATURDAY, JUNE 26 - 7:50 A.M.ESCONDIDO POLICE WATCH COMMANDER TOLD ABC 10NEWS THE MISSING WOMAN WAS FOUND FRIDAY IN ESCONDIDO AND "WAS OK."---SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who disappeared after a trip to Pala Casino.According to sheriff’s officials, someone contacted deputies at the department’s San Marcos station just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday to report Katelyn Schwindt missing.The person who contacted deputies said the 27-year-old Schwindt posted a message on her Facebook page that indicated she was at Pala Casino on the evening of June 24. In the same message, Schwindt wrote that she was possibly drugged and assaulted.ABC 10News spoke with Schwindt's friend, Krystle Hudnell. When Hudnell saw the Facebook posts, she said there were too many typos for it to be a joke.Some parts of it read:"I DONT KNOW WHAT HAS HAPPE D I HAVE BEEN ASSULTED AND I AM LOST AND SCARED…""PLEASEV IM INNEDD OF HELP BAD IM INJURED I THINK IM BEING KID NAPPED…""As soon as I saw her post, it didn't seem like her, and it just seemed really scary," Hudnell said.Officials said deputies and detectives from the San Marcos station investigated but were unable to find her.Schwindt is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes. UPDATE: Tuesday's meeting was canceled due to an illness.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Tuesday night, the City of San Diego's Parks and Recreation Department will present two options for redeveloping the De Anza area to the Mission Bay Park Committee.The meeting is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at Mission Bay High School.The two plans were released to the public over the summer. Both feature improvements to sports fields, the Mission Bay Golf Course, green space, walking paths, playgrounds and beaches. Both also have new wildlife habitat areas included, although they vary on how many acres (27 or 38). A more detailed look at the plans can be found here.But wildlife preservations groups like the San Diego Audubon Society and ReWild Mission Bay say they don't go far enough to preserve the habitat or protect wildlife.They're calling for up to 200 acres of land set aside. Tumblr, a popular blog service owned and operated by Yahoo, says it will ban "adult content" from its site on Dec. 17.The decision comes just weeks after the Tumblr app was temporarily removed from Apple's App Store after child pornography was found on the site. Tumblr said in a statement to The Verge that the decision to ban adult content did not stem from that incident.Tumblr's new policy bans "explicit sexual content" and most instances of nudity. The site added that nudity "found in art," as well as nudity in the context of health-related situations and in the context of political protest or newsworthy events would still be permitted.Tumblr also says that written erotica will still be permitted on the site.After Dec. 17, any explicit content flagged by algorithms will be hidden from public view but not deleted from the site. Two World Health Organization experts are heading to the Chinese capital on Friday to lay the groundwork for a larger mission to investigate the origins of the coronavirus.An animal health expert and an epidemiologist will meet Chinese counterparts in Beijing to set the “scope and terms of reference” for a WHO-led international mission aimed at learning how the virus jumped from animals to humans, a WHO statement said.Scientists believe the virus may have originated in bats and was transmitted to another mammal such as a civet cat or an armadillo-like pangolin before being passed on to people.A cluster of infections late last year focused initial attention on a fresh food market in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, but the discovery of earlier cases suggests the animal-to-human jump may have happened elsewhere.In an effort to block future outbreaks, China has cracked down on the trade in wildlife and closed some markets, while enforcing strict containment measures that appear to have virtually stopped new local infections.The WHO mission is politically sensitive, with the U.S. — the top funder of the U.N. body — moving to cut ties with it over allegations it mishandled the outbreak and is biased toward China.“China took the lead in inviting WHO experts to investigate and discuss scientific virus tracing,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said Friday.In contrast, he said, the U.S. “not only announced its withdrawal from the World Health Organization, but also politicized the anti-epidemic issue and played a buck-passing game to shift responsibilities.”More than 120 nations called for an investigation into the origins of the virus at the World Health Assembly in May. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. -- An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a head-on crash with a sedan in Valley Center Saturday.The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Mac Tan Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.Officers say the 18-year-old was riding his motorcycle at a high speed when he came to a bend, lost control of the bike and slid into the opposing lane of traffic.The teen was the struck by 2004 Kia Spectra, CHP say.The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he later died. The driver of the sedan was uninjured.Officers say driving under the influence hasn’t been ruled out as a possible factor in the crash. 653
