Super said the chief justice’s role is critical, as he will rule over questions about evidence – though, a majority of senators could vote to overrule him.“There are a majority of Republicans in the Senate. So, in theory they could overrule the chief justice's decisions,” Super said. “But the chief justice was appointed by a Republican president, confirmed by a Republican Senate.
