CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after two women discovered the body of a homeless man in Chula Vista Tuesday morning. According to police, two sisters were walking on the 1400 block of Broadway around 1:20 a.m. when they discovered a man who wasn’t breathing.Officers tried to save the man, later identified as 56-year-old Ivan Velez, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later found signs of trauma and are currently searching for a suspect. No description of the suspect was given. (KGTV) – Police are investigating the death of a woman whose nude body was found in the middle of a Chula Vista street early Thursday morning.At around 12:30 a.m., a person called 911 to report a naked woman lying face down in the middle of the 200 block of Shasta Street, near Second Avenue.Responding police officers checked the woman and found she was not breathing and had no pulse.Despite CPR attempts, the woman -- described as Hispanic, in her 20s, and a Chula Vista resident -- was declared dead at the scene.Police told ABC 10News there was no immediate indication the woman was struck by a vehicle. On Friday, police identified the victim as 33-year-old Laura Rodriguez.Chula Vista police Lt. Dan Peak said, "It's very suspicious at this time. The manner of death is unknown. Chili’s warned customers Friday about a possible payment card data breach at restaurants.The chain says malware was used to gather payment card information including credit or debit card numbers and cardholder names. Expiration dates and CVV codes on the back of cards may also have been accessed at certain Chili’s restaurants.The data were accessed between March and April of 2018, but Chili’s says a breach may have occurred on other dates.Chili’s said affected customers would have access to MyIDCare, a fraud resolution and credit monitoring service. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — A man is in critical condition after police found him in his vehicle suffering from a bullet wound early Saturday.Chula Vista Police said officers were called to E Street at the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp just before 2 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle crash. The driver was found suffering from traumatic injuries. Fire and paramedic crews needed to use special tools to extract the man from his vehicle, according to CVPD.Police discovered that the man was suffering from a bullet wound and he was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police said. The man was described as in his 20s.The motive for the shooting is unclear.Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 781
