A Long Island man is facing charges after striking protesters with his vehicle Monday evening at a Black Lives Matter march, police in Suffolk County said.Authorities said Anthony Cambareri, 36, was driving his Toyota RAV4 westbound on Broadway in Huntington Station when he struck two protesters standing in the roadway around 6:45 p.m.The two pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.Police said Cambareri fled the scene but was caught moments later.Facebook user Matthew Showtyme posted video on Facebook reportedly of the driver stopped just after the incident.Warning: The below video contains language some readers may find offensive. Cambareri was not injured and his vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.Suffolk County police said the Coram man was arrested on third-degree assault charges and issued a desk appearance ticket. A carjacker is dead on Milwaukee north side, shot by the man he was trying to rob according to police.Officers said the shooter was legally carrying a gun and is now cooperating with them.People living near the incident said it is concerning since the attempted carjacking happened around the same time they start their day.Just before 6 a.m. Monday, police said a 21-year-old with a gun tried to steal a car from a man on his way into work. "It's really sad that a person would do that as far as try to rob someone who was going to work," said Kinyata Hendriex who lives nearby."A lot of young people think this is a game and that's it's just only fun. This is not fun," said Milwaukee Police Captain Andra Williams.The victim had a concealed carry permit, pulled out his own gun and fired. People say even if the shooting was justified it is not something someone should have to live with."Life threatened, if you got the opportunity then certainly it's within their right to go ahead and do that. It's sad," said nearby business owner Sean O'Byrne."I think it's a tragic situation. It's sad," said Hendriex.Police don't think the man who was shot was alone. A child in Galion, Ohio tested positive for meth on Sunday, just hours after trick or treating in the small town located between Columbus and Cleveland, WBNS-TV reported. According to the Galion Police, the boy is expected to make a full recovery after suffering a seizure. The boy reportedly was sickened after playing with fake teeth that were given to him while trick or treating. The boy's father reportedly said that the boy only had a few pieces of candy before getting sick. The Galion Police has not confirmed how the boy became sick from meth, and an investigation is underway. In the meantime, the police department has issued a warning to its residents. "We encourage parents to thoroughly check any candy your children may have received before they eat it," the Galion Police Department said. An expert on Halloween sadism, Joel Best, has previously said that intentional tainting of trick or treat candy is generally rare.“There is this fear out there, and it is terribly overblown,” Best said. “They are worried that some maniac will hand them a contaminated treat, and I can’t find any evidence that has ever resulted to a death or serious injury.” 1201

A Chinese lunar capsule returned to Earth on Thursday with the first fresh rock samples from the moon in more than 40 years, offering the possibility of new insights into the history of the solar system and marking a new landmark for China’s rapidly advancing space program.The capsule of the Chang’e 5 probe landed just before 2 a.m. (1800 GMT Wednesday) in the Siziwang district of the Inner Mongolia region, the China National Space Administration reported.The capsule had earlier separated from its orbiter module and performed a bounce off Earth’s atmosphere to reduce its speed before passing through and floating to the ground on parachutes. Following recovery, the capsule and its cargo of samples were flown to the space program’s campus in Beijing to begin the process of disassembly and analysis, the space administration said.The mission achieved new firsts for the lunar exploration program in collecting samples, launching a vehicle from the moon’s surface and docking it with the capsule to return the samples to Earth, the administration said.“As our nation’s mostly complex and technically groundbreaking space mission, Chang’e 5 has achieved multiple technical breakthroughs ... and represents a landmark achievement,” it said.Two of the Chang’e 5’s four modules set down on the moon on Dec. 1 and collected about 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of samples by scooping them from the surface and drilling 2 meters (about 6 feet) into the moon’s crust.
