The video showed the driver continuing to speed away, narrowly missing a bicyclist.“I feel like he had tunnel vision. I feel like he didn’t focus on anything else,” Swann said.The driver eventually stopped at West Marshall Street and Hermitage Road, where they met an officer.“That was the scariest moment of my life,” Swann said. “I have never been that scared in my life. It was a nightmare.”“Richmond Police detectives are investigating a hit and run incident that happened around 8:15 p.m. last night near Arthur Ashe Boulevard and West Broad Street,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “We ask that anyone with information about the incident to call Hit and Run Detective G. My best guess at this point is Republicans will control the majority of statehouses once all the vote are counted,” said Sarah Chattfield, a political science professor at the University of Denver.She’s been watching the statehouse races.Statehouses have a ton of impact on state laws, budgets for important programs and schools, and they draw the lines for election districts every 10 years.“This year, we all just finished out the census and as a result of that, states are going to be redrawing their legislative districts. late Monday night.Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were initially called to a local business around 5 p.m. Monday for a report of a burglary-in-progress, according to IMPD Sgt. Grace Sibley.When officers arrived, they saw a man running from the location and into a second building. The people inside were able to get out before the suspect barricaded himself.Sibley said the suspect had tried to rob the first business but fled after realizing that there were still employees inside.IMPD crisis negotiators and SWAT team members secured the area. After an hours-long standoff, the suspect became agitated and pointed a gun at officers, Sibley said. Officers then shot the suspect.The suspect was taken into custody and rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive. No officers were injured in the shooting.Roads in the area were closed during the standoff, which lasted several hours.The incident remains under investigation.
